It's here, somewhere!

Hey!
Have you seen my "fave" stick?

It's here in the garden,
'cause I left it here.

I checked under the Johnny Jump Ups.
Nope, nothing in sight!

So if I sit in the middle of the nursery beds,
I bet I'll see it for sure.

The rhubarb is not quite my idea of a stick.
It's great cooked down with some brown sugar though.

OH!
SO YOU HAD IT, DAD!
I LOVE APPLE WOOD TO GNAW ON EVERY NOW AGAIN!
and I know where there's more
'cause Dad pruned the apple tree!

  11. That photo of the rhubarb leaves is superb. It stopped me in my tracks to gaze at the intense colors and then try to figure out what it was!

And, Sophie looks as gorgeous as ever. I'm glad that she has apple wood to gnaw on.

I certainly understand where you're coming from in terms of worrying about the bears in my area. I actually think that it's better that I learn as much as I possibly can about their habits, rather than wandering around cluelessly, like I did for my first couple of years here. But, the biggest thing that I've learned is that they will go to great lengths to avoid direct confrontations with us. I'm not over-confident. I'm always wary so please don't worry.

  21. Sophie - you are too cute!! We love your garden - Murray's dad adores rhubarb! Stewed rhubarb, rhubarb crumble, rhubarb and ginger jam! No-one else in the house will eat it but if we want to keep him happy - a bowl of rhubarb is the way to go!!

    take care

  22. Was your Dad hiding your stick that whole time, Sophie? Shame on him. ;) I've missed visiting your blog and reading what you've been up to. I have had a very busy week. I'm sure you can relate, right?

I'm surprised Mr. Orangie wasn't hanging out with you in the garden area. Did you leave him inside the house? Better take him next time. He'll probably enjoy looking at the flowers are much as you do. :)
