IN THE COMPANY OF ONE CROW ~~~~

We discovered a new 'to us' park on Sunday
called Hemlock Ravine Park.
As we maneuvered the trails hilly, curvaceous and narrow
we rounded this corner and there it was
A LONE CROW
Do you see it?

OK, normally I totally ignore birds

but this time something came over me

I was possessed leaping
LICKETYSPLIT
over the bank without a worry in the world.

Get back here ~~ this is not going to be embarrassing
if I have anything say about it!!

Oh HI!
Were you actually watching me?
CROW?
WHAT CROW?
Nothing here but me and the chickadees!!

ALL THIS BECAUSE OF A CROW ~~~~

One crow sitting alone on the railing

Took off without detailing

That I should be careful on this beach

Because strange happenings not far out of reach

 Can bring freezing winds like yesterday's post

Stirring up that ol' Frisky Ghost

That keeps an eye on unsuspecting landlubbers

wishing they had forgotten their rubbers

But alas this time I don't need my BOOTIES

 Covering up these blond beauties.

JUST A MOUTHFUL

Heading around the furthermost tip of Point Pleasant Park today ~~~

the calmness and serenity of the North West Arm ~~~

propelled us along as we trekked,

mindfully taking in the breathes of the ocean and woods.

This crow became stone-like perched motionlessly ~~

waiting for us to whisk by
because if you look very closely
s/he had a mouthful of deliciousness.

STATE OF BEING

For the moment
LIFE is what you make it
~~~ bird flying overhead ~~~
~~~ Sophie very focused on Mr. O ~~~
~~~ Jim gazing out to sea ~~~
Ahhh, such is a split second of
three different worlds
enjoying their state of being.
leaving the observer (you)
at a glance
with a calmness and tranquility
hopefully
while watching the duo saunter along
with their visual and olfactory systems
in pre-dominant use.
Now you know why,
a smile is always welcomed and inevitable.
