SPRING RAINS + HIGH TIDE + FULL MOON + STRONG WINDS =

As you read in the title ~
SPRING RAINS
 HIGH TIDE
FULL MOON
 STRONG WINDS
equals
potential
a HIGH potential
for a flooded basement ~

In September 1996
this is what happened to us,
however this time around it's
|| SPRING 2019 ||

 When we got home
from lunch at the French Cafe
my 1st reaction was to begin shoveling the water
by the back door.

Fingers crossed
as the rains are beginning to abate
and the basement is surviving.

Got to go now
in case
 the shovel needs to be put into use again!
~~~
PS: the picture of Sophie is her sniffing the frozen walkway
outside our back door before the rains began.
EVEN JUST A BIT OF "OODLE"
Just as I snuggled into the front seat
on the passenger side
getting ready for
my 1st Doodle Driver Training lesson ~~~
I peered out the window and noticed this Doodle tied to the tree
waiting patiently for Mr/Ms human to come out of Starbucks.
Doesn't seem fair
because it's beginning to rain
and I mean rain ~~~
see what I mean
I am kind of worried about my DoodleFriend ~~
the sun is going down and the streets are wet and messy
I always worry about my Friends,
no matter if they have a bit of
"OODLE"
in them or not!!
RAIN RAIN GO AWAY ~~~
Or maybe I should say
~~~ DRIZZLE DRIZZLE GO AWAY ~~~

With Topical Storm Karen petering out,
our shores will only get a smidgen of wetness.
So typical with autumn weather
just slightly curtailing our longer excursions ~~~

But not our visits to the city.
 We just cut through the heart of it
to reach the park ~~~

 returning  a slightly different route
heading for a coffee / tea break
so paramount on "their" minds.

I end up staring out the car window ~~

" while trying to figure what the graffiti says on the walls "

and remembering that the park walks really
rank No. 1
on my daily to-do list.
~~~
RAIN or SHINE
they are DIVINE !!
MUCHO RAIN
These passed couple weeks we have been living through a deluge of rain.
One day on my favourite canal jaunt
we arrived with the clouds moving in and over us
and you can see the mist rising from the forest.
Looking straight up!
Oh yes, but not to view the clouds of course,
but to catch my friend.
The canal was still,
but not so much after I caught Mr. O
 leaving ripples up and down the waterway.
I'm like an arrow shot out of a crossbow.
Aim, shoot and Bingo !
The darkness was evident behind me
but as you can see the clouds were beginning to break.
Another day we started over favourite city jaunt
at Point pleasant Park
and
look what happened while I was returning to shore.
Raindrops and warm air,
such an unusual feeling
because I'm so used to raindrops and cool air.
A much welcomed change.
Then into the car for 1/2 hour drive home.
Meeting and passing these 2 horses,
I was glad to be back in my warm seat
gauging everything from my dry
point of view!
(from our the kitchen window will it ever stop?)
Rain & Wind today!
Today we awoke to a massive rain and wind storm!
Had to drive into the city of Halifax for a dental appointment for one of my guys
which proved to be a white knuckle drive, all the way.
The wind was so strong and the rain just kept coming down in buckets
and this was at 7:30 am.
The power went out so we figured we'd just go into town
and pray that it would be back on when we returned.
(not quite...5 hrs later...finally power)
These pictures were taken after we returned home
and had decided to see what was happening at the beach.
I didn't last long on the shore
because of the ferocity of the winds.
The sea foam was flying through the air
covering Jim's glasses.
> <
Here is a picture of sea foam from last February
during a wild time at he beach.
I scurried back to the car and was so glad to get out of that wind storm.
My ears tend to block my view when Mother Nature acts up!
