The 3 Amigos' Wish.....

We three amigos take time every day to experience
nature and each other
in our small world.

We enjoy our little routine and make an effort to show you
our loyal followers
that the world has become
closer and smaller
because of this medium we are using.

We know that some of our followers' situations
have become
quite painful
and
if our small contribution
to your
peace and happiness
helps in any degree
please accept our warmth and kindness.

Doodle's Eye View

 On the way home recently from a park walk,
we slipped through the dockyards
to avoid all the city traffic.

 These 2 pictures above show you the propellers
of windmills in storage waiting to be picked up
for some far away destination.
Hello...aren't they humongous!

 This is where the grain from western Canada is
funneled readying to be picked up by huge tankers,
again destined for the global community.

 I just thought this shot was cool
because the sun is highlighting my blondness again!

 Passing the flags of Nova Scotia, Canada and the U.S.
so many tourists arrive here every year
so welcoming them is very important.

 Passing the newer sections of the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design...

 I see this lady walking across the street with a poinsettia...
Xmas is so very close
really love the colours in this shot
so warm.

 Wrong way, for sure,
Halifax is finally designating more one-way streets.
This is really needed because the city is squeezed onto a peninsula
and everyone has to share the roads
from cars and trucks to bicycles and giant transfer vehicles
to pedestrians.

 I saw this old building being demolished.
Dads say it used to be the best pasta place in the city
that's like 30 years ago...lol!

Finally we are out of the congestion and heading across
the MacKay Bridge.
and see steamers heading in or out
(click above and see)
and
I know we will be home in about
20 minutes.

Need to Go Home!

 This afternoon while driving home from the city,
Ron decided he wanted to take more beach shots.
(BTW...my home is down this hill around the salt marsh
and directly across in that wooded area exactly opposite on the further shore)

 Here's the further shore now as we are approaching our little abode....

 Jim was played out so we dropped him off
and before you know it
we were on the boardwalk.
Me thinks the surfers never go home...
What do you think?

  The usual protocol is to sniff and detect who was here last..

 I let these friendly people go by with their over zealous black Labrador
and

 into the water he charged
but I just wasn't keen on joining him.

 The sun was going down and people were taking in the springlike weather...

 I really missed Jim.
It just isn't the same without
my other Dad.
I really want to go home
and
snuggle with him.

Straight to the Beach!

 Naturally....!!!
the sun is shining
the wind is fresh
and
the snow is crisp!

 The waves kept rolling in pounding the shoreline as...

 the spray continued to lift off the ridge of the waves and...

 crash onto the deserted beach while...

 a lone surfer challenged the continuous onslaught as...

 I made sure everything was OK.

 I patrolled the expanse while....

 waiting patiently....

 so very patiently...

for Ron to kick my ball
~~~Monsieur Orangie~~~
and
with this drop kick
I mastered my best retrieval  to date!
First Snow.....Early!
Our first snow storm whallopped us on Wednesday!
"Excuse me"
But I love snow!
From a pristine blue sky on Tuesday
to grey snowy skies on Wednesday
to a mixture of both on Thursday,
I am so happy winter has arrived!
These are parts of the garden that show you why I love winter.
I get to nosedive everything
safely
when the snow gets deeper.
See what happens when I get a taste of the "white stuff"....
They think I'm coming in the house...
this is my blankie and you'll just have to chase me
if you want it.
Sake.....Anyone!?
I'm nose to nose with a little feller...Henry
but my new heart throb is
~~~Sake~~~
just look at this handsome guy!

We connected on so many levels....

 I have always fancied myself with a small doggy boyfriend...

 But Sake just makes me all giddy and spinny!

He really has kind eyes
and
is so good-natured.
We had a blast last night at Mary's place
"my doggy care house"
while the adults played scrabble.

Relentless Waves

This visceral expression
of
Mother Nature
exemplifies
the power and the grace
that we witness
living on the coast.

Every time
I go to the shore
I wait patiently
as the car
rounds the bends
getting
closer and closer
suddenly
offering
the first glimpse
of the ocean.

Are there any whitecaps?
Is the fog lingering?

These are the foremost thoughts
that skirt through my mind.

Knowing these conditions
helps me to prepare for
my next adventure
on my beaches.

Cleaning Time!

 I possess those kind of ears that produce way too much ear wax
and we've learned the hard way
what can happen if you leave them unattended.

We've used the special solution from the vet
which smells like sweet apples

 but I prefer a simple solution of diluted vinegar in warm water ----- 4 to 1

 I just find the vet's solution makes me uncomfortable and antsy

while I relax in Jim's hands with the vinegar solution.
He really is the best solution "giver".
If you need any handy helpful hints like this
just ask, only thing though
Jim can't provide the hand rubbing, sorry!
