Cleaning Time!

I possess those kind of ears that produce way too much ear wax
and we've learned the hard way
what can happen if you leave them unattended.

We've used the special solution from the vet
which smells like sweet apples

but I prefer a simple solution of diluted vinegar in warm water ----- 4 to 1

I just find the vet's solution makes me uncomfortable and antsy

while I relax in Jim's hands with the vinegar solution.
He really is the best solution "giver".
If you need any handy helpful hints like this
just ask, only thing though
Jim can't provide the hand rubbing, sorry!

  1. What! No Jim holding me gently? Then forget about it!

  2. Your Jim adores you, Sophie, and this is making us smile!

    Love ya lots
    Maggie and Mitch

  3. We all should be as lucky as Sophie to be cared for by Jim!

  4. I have to much ear wax and Pam cleans them with cleaner from the vets that I don't like so I will tell her about Jim's vinegar solution.
    Thanks for the tip, Sophie.

  5. Hey Sophie!
Wow, looks like you are definitley being well cared for there. My peeps used to have a Retriever who had horrible problems with this. They tease me that my big, open, radar-dish-sized ears never have this trouble! Phhhtttthth. You're a very good patient. :)

  6. I'm sorry about your ears, but you have the greatest care givers. You may want to read my blog today and see what Samson has to say about this subject. He's threatening to sue!!!

  7. We might give the vinegar a try. We use baby wipes.

  8. Hope your ears are all better Sophie. Imagine what we get in our big ears

  9. You're holding still there Sophie, don't you want to shake those ears out - just a bit? :-)

  10. Looks like you are enjoying a wonderful ear massage there Sophie !

  11. I needed this about 10 years ago! I had a wonderful Bouvier with natural ears and the same problem. Our vet gave us "Oticlens", and it blistered his ears. After that, I just cleaned them with warm water.

  12. Poor you - Oscar hates this. You seem to be pretty calm though.

  13. Hi! Very nice blog and bautiful pictures. Will follow Sophie and enjoy mor beautiful pictures. Greetings from Sweden

  14. We get our ears cleaned all the time with vinegar and water. Being a couple of basset hounds our ears are always full of crud! Sophie's ear cleaning looks like a spa treatment. We're just not that happy to have ours cleaned.
