SOMETHING COMES OVER ME

I know I've mentioned this before ~~

but something truly comes over me ~~

when the right combination of fresh air / fresh sunlight / fresh salt air nearby

just send me
" 'round the moon Alice"

(I could dance for ever but we need to get walking)!

Are you ready for a nice long walk
with your Yaktraks / Nordic Poles
(whatever works for you?!)
I have my four legs which have served me well.

'CRACKER JACK ON FIRE' MEMORY

Hey Sophie!
What's up?
Your 4 Doodle Paws are certainly in a hurry.
Where are you heading?

I know sweetie ~ Jim's not here with us!
Ain't as much fun without him, is it!?!

Mr. Orangie gets a workout  with mucho munching
when Daddy Jimbo has to work.
We'll make the best of it, honest!

Besides look over there on the hill.
He's working hard for only 4 hours today
meeting all kinds of people.
Remember the day he let you come inside MacDonald House
and you ran around like a cracker jack on fire!?!

Well, he remembers that too and
is thinking of you
and
all the great help you assisted him with.
I just looked at the time and I think it's time to pick him up.
Let's Go!!

NEW DISCOVERY PT. 2

 OK then, back to my new discovery surprise.
Are you still with me?
I see that you are.

This is a very up close long range view
in front of me as I meander
out the boardwalk
at the first left-hand turn
that we meet.
The distant view is of MacDonald House
where my Daddy Jim
has his vintage Mid-Century Maniac Shop.
The white building on the left perched on that hill.

This is the first left-hand turn on the boardwalk
slightly topsy turvy just for fun.

The bog pond is frozen solid
perched above the Atlantic Ocean.

I thought about going on the ice
but the guys nixed that mighty quickly.
What's with them anyway?

 On the return along this section I saw this dead tree trunk
which for all intents and purposes looks very much like a heron to me.
What do you think?

Jim is keeping an eye on me
because I am speedy as in DOODLE FAST.
(I am out of sight at this point which for some reason always bothers the guys).
~~
I smell a beach
well at least that is what it smells like to me.

More to come!

NEW DISCOVERY PT. 1

Hi Ho!
We have discovered a new "to us" boardwalk, trail
along an area where plenty of surfers surf.
This is the sign to the entrance
with plenty of information for all types of surfers.

Follow me and uhm,
H-U-R-R-YYYYYY!

There's always one straggler!
Always!

Jimbo, haven't you taken enough photos?
I know this one behind me (as in Daddy Ron)
is totally OCD about his photo-taking.
~~
Come on now
I have to show everyone this place!

Next time!

A QUICK DASH TO THE BOARDWALK

This past weekend let's you know what winter truly is like
in my neighbourhood. Getting ready takes a little longer
having to don my new coat which by the way
is the easiest jacket to put on.
VELCRO is the new ZIPPER of yesteryear.

I espied this YELLOW kayak
from the boardwalk and sniffed out
pretty much everything around this area.
Why would people tempt fate
when the temps are minus 18 Celsius?

Oh I do learn so much on my sojourns.
One thing that I have learned is that it takes
many to make our world go round.
Pretty boring if everything was the exact same.
Right !?! RIGHT!

Good evening everyone!
Stay safe and warm in your world.

WINTER HAS ARRIVED

The cold winter winds have been blowing over our world for a while now
but today I found out just how cold it was.
While they caught up with all their blogging, facebooking, photo editing and
whatever social media that grabs their attention.
I 'zenned out' on my huge mammoth squeak toy
shaped like a giant marshmallow.
I then began staring at the guys
which means in Doodle language
"it's time to vacate the premises
and
go get some exercise".
Well, it took the usual amount of time to get ready
after the guys put on all their layers
and
I put on my PURPLE JACKET.

The roads were super icy
and
Daddy Jim said he had everything under control
~ not to worry.

We made it there safely
open the doors to brave the winds.
It was so cold,
a damp cold,
that chills the bones.

We began walking being vigilant of snow covered ice.
Heading for the beach to check out the waves as usual ~~

we noticed some odd snow covered grass.
The usual thin blades were clumped together with very thick snow.

Following the path along the dunes was the icing on the cake
so bitter the north winds
that we immediately headed back to the car.

Then it happened my front right paw froze.
A quick defrost moment and a marathon run to the car.
"Hurry let's go"
was all I heard.

Phew, that was a close one.
PURPLE BOOTIES next time
winter's unrelenting cold has arrived!!!

ROLLING MY 'EYEBROWS' AGAIN!!

Sit Stay!
How many times do I hear this in one walk?

Sometimes ~ NEVER!

Sometimes ~ ALWAYS!

"I always try to smile when I get that pat on the head!"

This time my SNOOPY SNOOPINESS turned out to be AOK
in the guys eyes.
~ PHEW ~

'Cause sometimes I find
DELICIOUS DELICIOUS~NOUS
which goes down mighty fast.
Not this time though.
Excuse me I've got to take this corner
my nose is telling me
there just could be
a GOLDMINE
to be found!

AAH ~~ NO METEOR SKY, 'MUCHO' FOG

Bright (not so much)
Early (maybe too late)
Atmosphere ('tis indeed)
alas no meteors to be seen.

Standing patiently
while Jim plays
 with his new phone.
Yoh, everyone we are now "cellified"
or "mobilizied"
for the international crew.

 "Now Sophie everything will be OK
It's a human thing
it's called 'technology'
and
it's taking over our world
but not your Doodle World," whispers Jim.
How many times have I heard this?!

Patience, again!
I am waiting for the trek home for breakfast.
So Ron takes a picture of Jim taking a picture of grass.
I rest my case and I'll leave it at that.

Now for a ~~~
'I have conquered something pose' a la Jim.
Humour him, won't you.

You know this fogginess is mighty unnerving.
Can you see those two eyes looking at me
at the end of the boardwalk.
Squint ~~ Look very closely.
Should we go down there?

PHEW !
It's just the 2 lights on the changing house.
This foggy stuff can be very disconcerting sometimes.

~~~
OK, once we pass this area
we'll be on the home stretch
for brekkie!!!
YAY!!
EYE on the ball!
OK, who's got her eye on the ball?
Naturally...I do!
Thought I'd keep practicing
while Daddy Ron repairs his back booboo!
I certainly don't want to forget
how to do this..."EYE>>>>>>on>>>>>>BALL"..... maneuver!
BINGO!
I haven't lost it!
Husky Nishga
Our adventure on the boardwalk, today,
was highlighted with a chance encounter...
a new friend, Nishga...
a 15 year old Husky.
I decided that my ball would be a deal breaker....
so I motioned to Nishga that if she wanted to play
I would be more than happy.
Nishga wasn't as hyperactive as me...
so I let her make friends and
enjoy all the oohs and aahs
from the adults.
Nishga looked very youthful, I thought.
I would never have known that she was 15.
Hopefully, we will run into Nishga again.
She lives so close to the beach...
you can actually see her house from the boardwalk.
Until next time.....!
