MARTINIQUE BEACH TREK

I love to visit Martinique Beach in the dead of winter no less.
Yes, it's cold, freezing, chilly but down-right exhilarating!
(I'm pretending to be a hieroglyph in this picture.
Do you think it works?)

 Da lum Da lum
Da lum Da lum
this is my inner sound
as I begin my gallop down the beach.

Now you know why I am so focussed
and why this beach rates super high on my list of faves.

After traversing a huge rock outcrop the smooth beach becomes evident
and that only means more Mr. Orangie chasing.
Hello, guys....um...could your hurry it up!?!

Yes, now you believe me don't you.
Huge rock outcrop covered in frozen ice, salty ice I might add.
Treacherous I might hasten to point out!

But here is my Martinique Beach.
Oh yes, I do covet this place and if any one shows up
I make sure they obey the rules,
Mother Nature's rules.

Since we are the only warm blooded bodies
daring to walk the beach
I figure Mr. Orangie needs a work out.

First catch on the beach,
I circle around for more.

I do stretch out when I run
now you can see my luxurious chocolate coat
with blond accents.
(Thank you DNA)

Number 2 catch
floating in the air too!
(Imagine if we could fly)

Number 3 ~~ straight up!
Eye ~ Nose ~ Mr. Orangie

OK, enough play ~~ let's get down to some serious walking and sea glass searching.

This pebbled area is always a goldmine in sea glass.

I told you that they would find some glass.
I did hear them muttering about not finding any cobalt blue, red or orange today at all.

Oh well, each to their own as I always say.
It takes all kinds to make our beautiful world go 'round
and whether it be humans seeking for pieces of broken glass
or me staring down Mr. Orangie ~~
Life is Good!!

t'other side......! cont'd

 OK...you twisted my arm paw...!
I'll show you!
Here's Jim walking down the path which I already swooped down sec's earlier!
Looks like someone is heading out, even if it's foggy.
Here's a tiny little beach we found last year hidden in the park and rarely used...
 except for us now!
Finally, I was able to dunk myself with Mr. Orangie.
With all those boats over there and a new house being built...I had this whole area to myself.
Fine with me....this is my secret and now it's yours!
Psst...the guys go snakey over blue sea glass...even big one's like this!
Up the hill and heading toward the car...this view is to the left and
this view is to the right....look who's calm now...
and sleeping like a log all night.
Hope you liked our short sojourn to "t'other side" of the park.
I'll take you there, again, when the sun is shining
and it is actually doing that right now...finally!!!

Sophie is proud of the guys, again!

Yesterday, my guys hit the motherlode of 'motherlodes'. Check out the amount and variety of colours and sizes of seaglass we found on an uncombed beach in the city. Yes, 'in the city' is the amazing thing. We scoured all kinds of beaches and found some pieces, however never thought to look at the tiny little inlets in and around our city. We are beyond ourselves and the best thing is...I can go swimming while they act like scavengers with bent necks uplifting stone after stone with so many surprises awaiting!

and

Aren't the colours amazing!

up close and personal with some words inscribed...

This is their favourite seaglass book right now...go check it out at the library

These guys aren't a bit OCD....they are alot OCD. I guess it could be worse, so while they bury their heads and 'ooh and aah' over their booty I'll just rest my weary head on bunny.....ta ta!

PEI cont'd

We got to the Sea Glass Festival one day early which for me was OK because it meant I had the entire lawn to run and fetch. While Jim scouted out the tent area, Ron and I played. We finally ended up on the beach and look what Ron found!

Green glass.... sort of reminds me of some story or book from PEI...oh yeah, Anne of Green Gables....sick I know but it coming from my point of view, so it's OK!

Jim kept searching with his determined position of head down.

Since hunger reared it's ugly head we headed for The Chowder House at Point Prim. I watched Ron as he went to get my water bowl...so hot!

I waited patiently and soon I had the owner wrapped around my little paw. The water was sooo refreshing after our long walk searching and searching for sea glass! Soon we moved into the lattice work shade and sat calmly listening to the waves and birds...we were the only ones there...!

Busy weekend of fun.....

This weekend my guys took me to Martinique Beach...which as far as I'm concerned is the best beach around. It is long with white sand and so much beach glass. My boys love to hunt for 'sea glass' and are always ecstatic when then come upon a shimmering piece nestled in the sand among the pebbles. I swear they are going to have sore necks with all this gazing at the ground. Come on 'look up' there's more to life than looking down.

These are specimens of sea glass found over the passed 2 years...

the collection fills up this vase nicely...

so proud of my guys for all the bending and staring...I really wish they'd just throw my ball and get on with it.
