STRONG WINDS

Strong south west winds have been pummeling the province all day

which means the para-surfers are in heaven.

Far below MacDonald House,

 as these two onlookers had been veiwing

you'll find Jim clicking like crazy

for the latte sea 

caused by

the super fine salt sea mist, 

relentless winds 

and 

pending sunset

keep my ears and toes alert

ready for a fast dash to the car

(this will give you an idea ~ apologies for the wind sound)

Such is my life after a rain and wind storm 

which dropped a month's worth of rain ~

almost like a hit and run!

HURRICANE ARTHUR'S WINDS

Patience is a virtue!

How many times have I heard this being said to me 

as I sit 

DOODLE PATIENTLY ~~

waiting for a chance to romp in this field 

just like these peeps

in the middle of Hurricane Arthur.

even through the windows 

at Daddy Jim's retro shop

you could FEEL the power of the wind

Finally I made it to the slopes

and up the trail to the middle field

wondering if Mr. Orangie

was coming out to play

Not today 

I guess

too much wind

the velocity was ear splitting

with that realization I decided that I should quickly fill up on salad greens

before I blew away

Gees, where is Jim?

This fellow isn't Jim

and those ladies aren't either.

 I know exactly where he is hiding,

inside MacDonald House

playing with his retro goodies

getting them ready

for the hordes of peeps

that are coming this way to see

Hurricane Arthur!!

CANADA DAY ~~ YAY ~~ EH!!!

Ambling through the mammoth field of bowing verdant grasses

surrounding me completely in meadow sweetness with that tickling feeling

every time I dip my nose into the clumps of jade green looking for my tender salad sprouts

I lift my head to sniff and hear far off in the distance humans slicing through the waters below

freedom

with a splash of seaweed

like butterflies on the wind they are

the winds have kept their strength sufficient for these folks

so I will retrace my steps back up the hill

with one last glance into the distance

and plunk myself down
on this beautiful day.

Breezy, an Understatement!

After a long day in the city with a

~~~ park walk ~~~

~~~ lunch at a cool diner ~~~

~~~ coffee at 'bucks ~~~~

~~~ 2 'Sally Ann' stops ~~~

Ron promised to take me for another walk

at Stony Beach!

I was certainly OK with this decision

because there are sniffy discoveries here

and

I know this first hand!

 The waves kept rolling in

one after another

because we had a nor'easter

go by last evening... 

which always whips up the surf

churning and agitating it 

beyond the normal surf turbulence.

The intensity of wind

was evident

with the crest of the waves

being lifted and dragged

quite far behind the wave.

I felt all topsy turvy

standing on this hillside

which seems kinda wonky in this picture.

I almost lost my balance!

No wonder I was a bit off balance

after realizing how high up 

I was.

Don't worry!

I am very careful 

walking along this path.

It's when the edge becomes  more sheer

and eroded then I step far back...

and spend more time

checking out the secret woods

that always intrigues me

when I visit this place.

Back Home from Savage Harbour, P.E.I.

We are back from a week of wandering the beaches of PEI. We were offered Jim's nephew's cottage in Savage Harbour located on the north side of the province. This area is so serene and peaceful. Do I want to move here?...why...YES...would be my answer.....
