HAIR-OGRAPHY

I insisted that this picture
needs to be viewed
in super extra largeness
seeing the colours
the minutiae of beauty
intertwined in my hair
blowing
swirling
while looking out over
her favourite view
MacDonald's Hill
~
PS: I am doing pretty dang good for a 12 year old pup.
Not to worry any more, so be cool everyone
and take one day at a time
and
for Pete's sake
ENJOY
what you have been given.

ADJUSTING TO THE NEW ME

I am 12 years old
I am older than my Dads now
I am finding it difficult to see as clearly
I am nervous with sharp pitchy sounds
I am less hyper sometimes
I am willing to go on a walk as ever before
I am licking still
I am grateful
I am willing to sit beside my guys on a deck or hilltop slope
I enjoy gardening
I am a lover of green grass or salad as I have heard them say
I am pretty much the same as I always have been
I am adjusting to the new me
now
I just hope my guys can handle it
I will still keep an eye or two on them every day 🍀✌️

BRILLIANCE ABSOLUTELY EVERYWHERE

October is our month of brilliant colours
cooler temps
bright blue skies
adding another layer to cut any unexpected chill
and
time to discover new places ~~

this is the Shubenacdie River
which we discovered on the weekend
the colours were magnificent
and
it inspired Daddy Ron to create the piece above
the original picture is below

closer to home the backyard
is ablaze with this
Japanese Bloodgood Maple
~
still waiting for the
Acer Palmatum Dissectum
to offer its unreal display

so while you wait
I will show you what happens to
yours truly
when Daddio
gets lost in his world.
CHEERS!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JIM

My Daddy Jim will do anything for me
not to mention anything for anyone else
he doesn't / has never put himself first,
I can attest to that.

He'll pose to let Ron take pictures of him through a wonky, wet car wind shield
even if distortion is running rampant.

He especially loves his new adventure selling his retro 50's & 60's kitchen ware.
Doesn't the smile tell it all!

He loves taking me to the park and venturing down a new trail
with scads of people running and walking by.

 He loves taking me to see his Pops
at the veteran's hospital
mainly because he knows I get fed
so much!

He'll jump into the moment for fun,
nothing holds him back
because life is way too short
for anything else.

Birthdays are meant to be off beat / colourful / side splitting laughter
topped with confetti.

So lighten up lady,
your birthday will be coming soon.
~
BUT today is my Daddy Jim's Birthday
and
I'm going to be snuggling close
'cause he really deserves it!
(Gees, that lady scares me!)

LIFE IN THE CITY

As I saunter through the grasses at daycare soaking up the view and the moment

my Guys are off on a day with  themselves in the city

ducking under an eavesdrop of this modern building to avoid being pelted by hail

no kidding these things sting when they hit your face

but they were determined to get indoors at the public market
a stone's throw away

above the public market
where the view is picture perfect
for the cruise ships that arrive daily
~ the hail was far off in the distance ~
thank goodness!

the discounts fly in your face
to keep the visitors
in this neighbourhood
instead of having them bus off
to other popular scenic places

 this cool car has caught Jim's eye
keeping him on the trail for the day

these heritage buildings wreak with history
and now are 2014 modernized

offset with more glass
and
our flag
getting ready for
CANADA DAY
JULY 1

into MEC ~
they have been members since 1980
when they first lived in Vancouver
where MEC originated

sailing passed fancy restaurants
and pubs
the guys knew they had a good day
and
headed back to pick me up!

They are so entranced with windows
no wonder,
look!
~
The thing is, once in awhile, we need to experience our own interests
so I am all about sniffing and licking
and
the guys just love seeing the world from their own
unique perspective.

HAPPY 7th BIRTHDAY SOPHIE!!!!

I'm used to people looking at me
but on my birthday
it's a special time
and
one that makes me feel so good inside.

(you'll be tapping your DOODLE TOES guaranteed)

Even street artist's enjoy my visage.

I even allow a KITTY KITTY to touch my nose
but with a computer screen between us.

Sometimes you find me hiding in the steaming bathroom
waiting for someone to clean the mirror.

or inside your favourite book hidden in the pages.

Art and creativity go hand in hand.
So on my 7th Birthday
I want to thank you all for following me
and making me SMILE!!

2 WEEKS INTO 2014

It's been almost 2 weeks since the New Year started
and we've had every kind of weather
the weather person can throw at us,
from
 ~~~ the obvious SNOW ~~~
"full on can't see 2 feet in front of you" stuff to
spitting squalls
blanketing the city
as we crossed the bridge to
RAIN
~~ oh yes the wet stuff ~~
 moisture soaking your winter clothes to
sea mist rising along the shore's edge to
hard as cement ice surrounding our bench at the park to
frigid mornings letting us know that the air is so much colder than the water to
clouds emptying SNOW or RAIN at their whim to
trail after trail ready for trekking / snowshoeing / cross country skiing to
watching for winter surfers masked by the spray of the waves to
 attempting road ice walking or scuffing whatever works to
waking up on a high hill to watch the barrage of waves pummel our beaches to
finally getting some protective PURPLE BOOTIES
because my toes started to freeze to
 watching the hustle & bustle beauty in the heart of the city
caused by lower temps to
 smelling the salt air
the crisp salt air to
hiding from the crisp salt air and Jim to
just knowing we can hop in our jalopy
and be at this spot in an instant
to refresh ourselves
and
just feel the wonder of our small spot on this planet.
