Chocolate as Nutmeg!

Last year at this time when I still had my gorgeous long tail feathers
(lovely aren't they?!)
My Nutmeg Brown colours
seemed to be more pronounced and obvious
in the setting sun.

On the eastern side we were so fortunate to witness this sky
this darkened steel grey/blue expanse.

Even dashing through the snow along the top of the hill
my coat picked up the last rays of sun.

With the exact calmness of the heavens and
 the curtain slowly descending
 I homed in on something...

with nose fully engaged
I dropped Mr. Bionic

but alas it must have been the remnants
the last vestiges
of some doggy visit
from the summer...
sigh!

Such is my life of seek and discovery.

Gazing into the distance
as the sun creeps slowly
into sea
leaving us behind....

I know that soon very soon
I will be laying my chocolate brown nutmeg blond head
on my soft bed

I trust everyone will be relaxing
with their loved ones,
all curled up
just like me.

At this time
I want to wish everyone a

HAPPY DOODLE NEW YEAR

and

ALL THE BEST in 2013!!

SNOW!

The snow has arrived......aaaaa...YAYYYYYY!

so....I do believe
"snowflakes are like kisses from heaven" - unknown

"Advice is like snow; the softer it falls, the longer it dwells upon,
the deeper it sinks into, the mind" - Samuel Taylor Coleridge

"The snow goose need not bathe to make itself white.
Neither need you do anything but be yourself "- Lao Tzu

"When he spoke, what tender words he used!
So softly, that like flakes of feathered snow,
they melted as they fell" - John Dryden

"The Eskimos had fifty-two names for snow because it was important to them:
there ought to be as many for love" - Margaret Atwood

Snow, Love, my neighbours and you!

Such is my world this last week of December 2012!

Could I get any Closer!?

It's me, Sophie Doodle!
We're visiting Pops this Boxing Day at the Veteran's Hospital.
I just got off the elevator
feeling a little woosie!

Jim is waiting for his Dad to finish his supper
so a little tune is being tickled on the ivories...
fine with me the elevator
got me discombobulated anyway!

A few minutes later...
You can see how good I am...
actually we are both being so good
waiting for Pops
as he steers himself down
the corridor
to
ME!

Can you tell how excited Jim is
not to mention me..
just a Sophie Blur!
Pops is already for me though,
treats are on their way!

So milkbones and tasty morsels
seem to always be a hit with me...

and as I said in the title...

"Could I get any closer"
to show my thanks
and
appreciation!
I think not!

Rockin' Around My 'Christmas' Trees

My Christmas Trees are outside everywhere around my property...!

Here's the remnants of one from last year....!

I love to jive with my remnants or anyone who happens to join in!

Christmas trees are so beautiful at this time of year
because everyone decorates with their very special ornaments.

So while I continue to devour my special tree from last year
enjoy this little ditty
and
EVERYONE
have a wonderful
HOLIDAY SEASON!

Sunset Delight with My Dads!

While transfixed by the sunset tonight,
walking straight into it seemed natural....

however a 'Mr. Orangie diversion' seemed to
throw me off.

But no matter what holds my attention visually...

or with my olfactory sense...

I can tease alone with the best of them,

(Daddy Jim's post The Dance will show this view from his angle)

 allowing in the end
much needed
calmness and  peace
as the sun slowly melts into the western sky.

Concentration x 2

Once in awhile one captures a moment in time,
a moment which tells a story
a story of split second intenseness,
just like this photo.

SOOC
(straight out of the camera)
without any editing
just a feeling of 'capture' x 2!

Sophie and Jim
have both caught something.

Can't you feel
Sophie's heart pounding
and
Jim's focused concentration!

P.S....in case you aren't aware
Sophie has captured Mr. Orangie.
Big Surprise...right!

Not Taking Things for Granted!

My world is connected to your world...

As I see this stunning wave action...

from high on these rocks

I want to include you
to let you know what the feeling is like
to see this beach view
to feel these rocks under foot
to smell the fresh salt air
to taste the fresh salt air
and
to invigorate the blood in those veins.

This action always satisfies my needs

and I hope satisfies yours.

Please take care of yourselves
during these days of confusion, sadness and hope.

I will promise to take care of myself
as long as you hold up your end of the deal.

Peace as always....Namaste!

I am related to a Dog Whisperer!

My cousin, Cameron came to visit me the other morning
and I was more than HAPPY with this decision.

You'll see me in action meeting Cameron
and handling it very well,
if I say so myself.
Jami, Cameron's Mommy said Cameron was a Dog Whisperer,
(55 sec mark)
So she said it, therefore it's true, right?!

I know I was enthralled with having a baby in the house,
see my head whiz by as Cameron giggles at me.

I was so submissive,
just like when I visit Pops!

Cameron had all kinds of neat things to play with,
and this one was my favourite
Cheerios Cup!
Full of cheerios!
Need I say more!

Hey Cameron!
Come back anytime
and bring your Cheerios with you too!
Don't want them to feel left out....right?!

Bocce with Pops!

I visited Pops at the Veteran's Hospital
last week and as luck would have it
I met a some more new friends
and
watched Pops play bocce
with his new mates on his floor.

I always get wiggly around women,
these two really connected with me.
This fellow was full of laughter and joy.
Just look at him!

I think he knew he was on camera.
Next time I'm going to wiggle more
to get his attention.

Oh, he's a good soul.
He even read my name tag.

I short moment of Bocce Ball,
Pops 3pm entertainment.

He has a smile on his face,
that can only mean one thing!
He's winning!

The green ball is thrown precisely
with the small, bright, orange ball in his sights.

I watched the intense game
from the sidelines,
once the ladies finished frisking me.
~~~
Daddy Jim is watching his Daddy Jim
with me in his arms.
Feels so good!
