SHAKE ABOVE THE OCEAN

Welcome my dearies!
I lay high above the waters
staring down at the sights below ~~

just across from me is Conrad's Beach
with a few lucky people taking a walk ~~

over the edge of the slope
you'll see a surfer finished for the day

climbing methodically and deliberately up the slope

but alas while they partake in their rituals
I partake in my DOODLE RITUALS
as I "shake above the ocean"
with my feet in the air!

(creative licence is in full DOODLE swing here ~ enjoy!)

MISSION ~ DOODLE REFUELING TIME

Needing to refuel

when obstacles pop up

means that I have responsibilities

so I take my guys to the hill to soak up this view

feel the warm grasses tickling my nose and toes

wondering if I am ever gone to be able to sneak inside
Daddy Jim's shop to make sure all's well on the eastern front.
He goes here twice a week and I pick him up after work.
There just must be something in there that I could eat, sniff or lick.
I JUST KNOW THERE IS!

HAPPY CANADA DAY #148 !!

Refreshing moment on the way home the other day
sitting
soaking up the view ~~

 the waves crashing on the rocks
a perfect east coast example
of my Canada!

lost in the fields
inhaling the sweet smells of new grasses
a fine abundant amount this year ~~

short and sweet
is my message today
~~~
We all wish you a Happy Canada Day
where ever you live in this blog world of ours!!
JUST LIKE ME
Hi, do you think it's windy enough for me
high on the hill today?
I'll just scoot down here where the wind drops off a bit ~
and zip back up because I can't allow the humans
to get too far away, you know.
OK follow me ~
look there's a surfing human
catching a pretty good wave.
I'll just see if I can figure out
what has been left
on the grass for me
while SURFERHUMAN
waits patiently below.
I really like being high on the hill
no matter where I stand
and
I do have a lot of vantage points ~~
which I have pointed out over my time here in blogland.
I always like to see colour
as is the case of this surfer with a red board
heading back to the truck
which has a blue board on top.
The grey waters and sky always
assist in making  the colours come alive,
just like me!
EVERYWHERE THERE IS SPEED •.¸¸ ¸¸.•*¨*•.¸¸ ¸¸.•*¨*
For the last 2 months our world has been smothered in snow
all forms of the white stuff ~~
but this passed week the skies and waters came alive
with wings all kinds of them ~~
Look what's above and ahead of us !!!
Yes these beauties were flipping through the air above our heads.
I have never seen such speed and agility.
I thought the the sailboards like the 1st two pictures were fast
but they have nothing on these light weight remote control planes.
I really get off on visiting this hill
because there is always something to see and to do here.
Ron told me about the iceboater he saw the other day
(but couldn't stop along the side of the road to take pictures
because the snowbanks were too high) ~~
^ But this will give you an idea of the thrill of this sport ^
See what I mean!
EXHILARATING BEYOND WORDS!!
APRIL •*¨*•♫♪
April has arrived!
This has always been a month for renewal and rejuvenation.
So today we decided that everything just felt right
for a walk in the park.
Just look at Jim's face and my determined canter up the hill.
I just never understood why one would need Nordic walking poles!
Perhaps, it's because I have 4 legs!
This is the 1st time since 2013 that Daddy Ron
has had the opportunity soak up this view.
We found this picnic table along the edge of the pathway
and just stopped and stared for awhile.
The entrance to the Halifax Harbour looks so calm and serene today.
This vantage point really gives you an idea of the height of this hill
with many skeleton trees left over from Hurricane Juan in 2003.
The vegetation is returning slowly covering the land below.
One good thing though is that the view has opened up
a remarkable vista for quite a few years now.
Discovering a new path always turns into a photo op of clicking.
I am hiding behind shrubs
Jim is checking the depth of the snow
The container pier is bustling down below
and
Ron is taking pictures.
This shows you what happens when the guys aren't paying attention to me!
I smelled ocean water from high on the hill
and
before we all knew it
I WAS ON THE BEACH ~~
and into the water!
Sheeh what's a girl to do!?!
I haven't swum since last November
and
it's high time tide (pun) that I took full advantage of it.
ALL'S SUPER OK!!
People have been asking
"How's Sophie doing?"
"What happened anyway?"
"Is she going to be OK?"
~
Well here we are high on MacDonald Hill taking Sophie for a run
after seeing our new VET Ms. Shannon!
It seems that a deep fold on Sophie's lower left lip
has become infected causing much consternation and DOODLEFICATION!
For the next 2 weeks, daily cleansing in the morning with a magic solution and cream
plus magic cream in the evening will take care of this 'not uncommon' situation.
It seems to be very effective
because Sophie's discomfort has diminished
and her immediate reaction which is
no reaction,
no scraping her lip,
no whining,
and
with much anticipated restful sleeps now.
Sophie is so over-joyed
so happy
so beyond herself
that she can not control her exuberance on the hill.
See ~~~
 ~~ she is so sorry she knocked Daddy Jim out of his crouching stance onto his keester ~~
HONEST!!
She is just so
OVER THE TOP OF THE WORLD
"HAPPY"!!
ICE IS EVERYWHERE!!!!
My word, my world is covered,
smothered in ice
so thick
so slippery
so dangerous!
Did I ever tell you that "fear"
is not part of my repertoire.
I am walking along the edge,
the very icy edge of the slope.
Why not!!?!
Oops, there goes my blond legs again,
slipping with pretty much every step.
A much needed break ~
I can run here without any worry of slipping.
My back hind appears to be taking off behind me!
Here's that super icy trail again.
Did I ever tell you that I can figure out things pretty quickly
as in walking along the edge of the ice
always works better than ~~
landing on your DOODLETUMMY
with all your blond legs splayed out around you.
Once I realized that going over the edge could
be a possibility then I stepped much more carefully.
So glad you are on my side Daddy Jim,
I do believe I growing weary of this ICEWORLD.
Let's head back to the car, OK!?!
This will show you my ice world high on the hill overlooking the Atlantic Ocean
on this rather calm, slightly overcast with sun pushing through day.
Look what I saw on the hill as I was working my way back to the car.
Beautiful but very strange indeed!
I COULD HANDLE THIS ALL WINTER !!
 Are you following me again?
Well, it's quite understandable why you would be
because our weather is so warm today
14 C (57 F)
You heard it right.
It feels like a record temp for us.
Now watch your step
follow the path closely
and
I'll show you
how nice it is today.
Are you with me?
I know I'm speedy
as in
SUPER DOUPER DOODLE FAST
but if you want to have a great zen moment
then you must be alert
and
stay focussed.
I said focussed.
(Ron playing with his HDR setting again)
Really does get the point across though.
 Over there
 'way over yonder
while Jim settles some work stuff at MacDonald House
I see a field
A FIELD OF LOVE
JOY
4 legs up and over
and
down and out.
This is truly is my favourite grassy meadow
of all the meadows
I've ever rolled on.
Then without a moments thought
my nose is snaggled
completely drawn like an arrow in flight
over the hill
to the sights below ~~
Next time folks,
patience is a virtue
I know I have none either.
