APRIL •*¨*•♫♪

April has arrived!
This has always been a month for renewal and rejuvenation.
So today we decided that everything just felt right
for a walk in the park.
Just look at Jim's face and my determined canter up the hill.
I just never understood why one would need Nordic walking poles!
Perhaps, it's because I have 4 legs!

This is the 1st time since 2013 that Daddy Ron
has had the opportunity soak up this view.
We found this picnic table along the edge of the pathway
and just stopped and stared for awhile.

The entrance to the Halifax Harbour looks so calm and serene today.
This vantage point really gives you an idea of the height of this hill
with many skeleton trees left over from Hurricane Juan in 2003.
The vegetation is returning slowly covering the land below.
One good thing though is that the view has opened up
a remarkable vista for quite a few years now.

Discovering a new path always turns into a photo op of clicking.
I am hiding behind shrubs
Jim is checking the depth of the snow
The container pier is bustling down below
and
Ron is taking pictures.

This shows you what happens when the guys aren't paying attention to me!
I smelled ocean water from high on the hill
and
before we all knew it
I WAS ON THE BEACH ~~

and into the water!
Sheeh what's a girl to do!?!
I haven't swum since last November
and
it's high time tide (pun) that I took full advantage of it.

  1. Oh, Sophiedoodle, didn't your paws get cold? Samson has paws for that kind of dip, don't know about you. I envy you the snow. And I must tell you that I mentioned you in my post that I just posted. Why? Well, I love you for one, but the reason is that I met a doodle therapy dog that looked like a beige version of you at the hospital. If you have time, after chasing all your balls and getting your paws wet, and all, please stop by and visit and you can read all about it. You can skip the medical stuff, that's really not a lot of fun. Love you ms. doodle.

  2. Sophie, you're a gal after my own heart - run with the wind and enjoy life (though Barb wouldn't take a dip quite yet...). Glad Ron is up there enjoying it all with you guys.

  5. Oh Sophie, you do bring a smile to my face - which is good, because my almost-seventeen year old sheltie Shiloh went to the Rainbow Bridge today, so we are all quite sad here. Maybe we needed some doodle-therapy via your blog. Have a good Easter weekend with your dads, Sophie.

  8. Hey, a doodle's gotta do what a doodle's gotta do! And we do love water! So nice to see you and your dads out enjoying spring. But, ahem . . . seems like there's still a lot of snow for spring! Sorry we have not been by in ages but our reader is messed up and some furends ended up missing! Have a wonderful Easter weekend!

    1. We have had 9+ snow dumps these passed 2 months Murphy & Stanley ~~ so uncharacteristic for this Maritime climate. We do have wind storms and rain but no major snow events for ages. So Mother Nature decided we needed to remember and we do!

So glad to see you guys checking things out on the east coast here of Canada. Don't apologize for anything, one of my Dads got sickie last year and he was not good at handling all the traffic from then. He had to pull way back and as you guys things got all DISCOMBOBULATED!!

Mucho Doodle Hugs and guess what 2 weeks time I get my spring hair cut ~~ DOUBLE YAY!!

      Cheers!

    1. The park had become our weekly sojourn at least 3 times each week. When this stopped Jim and Sophie continued while I stayed either in the car or managed the lower level. Now things are on an upswing so I am venturing in to the park again. Can't wait to see the other side again and walk through the field of heather ~ those are my 2 goals this spring!
      Cheers!

  13. Hi Ron! I've been sitting here going through your posts all the way back to Monumental Hurdle Part 1. First: I'm so relieved that you are doing well! It's awesome that you are able to tackle thing that you've been unable to do since your heart attack. Rah! Rah! Rah! Second: I'm also relieved to know that Sophie is okay and just needs some meds and rest! Third: Your snowy world is beyond beautiful! The videos of SD ploughing through the snow and the brilliant blue water and the sky at MacDonald Hill! Just spectacular! It's good to be home after our wonderful trip. I'm slowly catching up on the piles of things that come with being away for a month. Missing those mai tais though! LOL Happy Easter!!! Summer is getting closer!!!

    1. So glad you are able to catch up and I know in your blog world that means plenty of reading. Don't exhaust yourself after having a great vacation,OK!?!

April is finally here and things are beginning to drip and melt. I chipped 3 inch think ice of the deck the passed few days and now my arms are so sore. Not supposed to do that but you know how stubborn Maritimers are!

I've been noticing all these powder baby blue water and ice covered lakes and inlets lately so I'm trying to find a dramatic picture to share. Last Sunday I ate at The Heron's Nest Tearoom where Jim works and I began talking to a lady who frequents the tearoom regularly. She noticed this blue hue too and said she would love to have large photo to put on her wall. So I guess I'm not the only one seeing the colour.

I have no complaints with winter petering out and leaving behind some photo ops.

Thanks for dropping by and all the best to Terry!
