MY ANGEL of the WOODS

Caught your eye again, 

I see

Come along and let me show you my discovery ~

Since I have my nose to the ground 95% of the time

 I almost missed this beauty of a gem
hanging in the trees recently

 fluttering as the breezes slipped passed

She is my ANGEL of the WOODS
and
she brings me
much joy!

MY CORKSCREW WITCH HAZEL

My winter garden holds about as much

 JOY and PEACE

as my spring, summer and fall gardens do ~

and lately this squiggly shrub called a

CORKSCREW WITCH HAZEL

has me entranced

as I circle underneath the twisted branches

searching for my buried 

DOODLE DOGGY BONES!

This massive monster tree ( Cupressus Nootkatensis) stands lofty 30 feet 

over my CSWH

protecting it from harsh north winds, raging hurricanes

and nor'easters.

Beauty is all around me in my winter garden.

suggests that a nor'easter will descend upon us on Sunday late.

Please send us good vibes to melt that sucker

so SPRING can commence in true style!!

 Watch Out!

Jim is a bit frisky 

with the bright springlike weather

and

snowballs!

One must always be aware when snowball snow

is all around you!

You'll see how much we all enjoy this park at this time of year

CLIFFHANGER, SORT OF ~~~

OK, this weekend the guys took me, and now you, to a new spot

at the very end of our harbour and peninsula, called 

Herring Cove Provincial Park Reserve.

.

This is the spot where cruise ships round the corner

on their journey along our province

and head into the city of Halifax.

Yes, the rocks are everywhere in Nova Scotia

and in this case careful footing with the snow and ice.

I'm standing on a high vantage point

surveying my new surroundings ~~

and the mighty wind is

lip smackin' fierce!

I've scouted ahead and figured out which route to take.

Even my speed in the snow doesn't curb me from fear.

Look!

The grass is camouflage grass

(same colour as my naturally blond tips)

but my feet are getting bunged up with mini-snowballs.

Uhm, guys where are my PURPLE BOOTIES?

Since they forgot them,

I'll keep scurrying around,

like a DOODLE POSSESSED!

(here's a windy sightly noisy view of my new fave place)

I heard the guys say that they would bring me back in the spring

when the rocks aren't so treacherous.

No real cliff hanger

other than what could have happened 

if I had slipped

but relax folks,

I didn't.

HI YA FOLKS!!

standing or sitting around with nuttin' to do.

What a shame.

Seriously, there's nuttin' to lose.

It's like a homing beacon, anyway!

There now doesn't that feel better,

calm waters

fresh air

some exercise

find a special rock

and 

watch the fellow surfing the waves.

He is very patient

just like me ~~ not likely ~~~ ha ha ha!!!

There he goes grabbing life and carving out a path

that works perfectly for him.

I'm pretty good at grabbing life too.

I know I can squeeze the life out of Mr. Orangie most days,

but meeting new friends and old friends

just about is the icing on my cake.

Complete Opposite!

I know it's SPRING and the flowers 

should be popping 

through the ground,

at least showing signs of  waking up.

Well, not so much here this year.

We had a a snow storm last night

and the temperatures are freezing again.

So cold, so dark, so unfair!

Last year at this time we were basking in

what seemed like summer temps

or at least unbelievably warm spring temps.
