LIFE IN THE CITY

As I saunter through the grasses at daycare soaking up the view and the moment

my Guys are off on a day with  themselves in the city

ducking under an eavesdrop of this modern building to avoid being pelted by hail

no kidding these things sting when they hit your face

but they were determined to get indoors at the public market
a stone's throw away

above the public market
where the view is picture perfect
for the cruise ships that arrive daily
~ the hail was far off in the distance ~
thank goodness!

the discounts fly in your face
to keep the visitors
in this neighbourhood
instead of having them bus off
to other popular scenic places

 this cool car has caught Jim's eye
keeping him on the trail for the day

these heritage buildings wreak with history
and now are 2014 modernized

offset with more glass
and
our flag
getting ready for
CANADA DAY
JULY 1

into MEC ~
they have been members since 1980
when they first lived in Vancouver
where MEC originated

sailing passed fancy restaurants
and pubs
the guys knew they had a good day
and
headed back to pick me up!

They are so entranced with windows
no wonder,
look!
~
The thing is, once in awhile, we need to experience our own interests
so I am all about sniffing and licking
and
the guys just love seeing the world from their own
unique perspective.

and AFTER ~~ SO SHORT!!

Guess What?
Well, I've decided that I prefer
my hair short
super short
SUPER DOODLE SHORT!
~
You say, "...but Sophie Honey
you are a doodle
and
doodles have long wavy/curly locks!"
~
Well, I do hear you!
But I love the comfort
and
ease of movement
after having it all sheared off.
~
You would understand if you were a DOODLE,
I just know you would!

Now you see me,
Now you ~~ !!

I'm off to the DOODLE PARLOUR

Sandra is going to LOVE me to bits.
She always does.

I'll be back to show you her creation ~
her DOODLE EXTRAVAGANZA!!!

FROM A HORSE'S POV

Ambling yet focused inching her way up the driveway to daycare ~~

Sophie shrieks ~~
"Oh Mary I haven't seen you for a whole week!
Do you want to dance?"

"What is it with dogs anyway?
Can't they ever be calm for just once", says Topaz.

"You would think this view would be enough to relax
those canines when they arrive here."

"But I stare in bewilderment ~~

just like my buddy on the other side of the building."

"Just a month ago
Sophie was a super calm DOODLE GPS-ing that clump of grass
while I sniffed my barren patch."

"I think she has come along way
since her super young days
nipping at my hooves
without fear, at all"

"I have stories that I won't even tell Mary,
just between me and Sophie Girl."

The Dads took off and visited the exhibition
at the museum in Halifax ~~

I know I'd be super keen on this photo montage
because well, I think it's self-explanatory.

I guess Jim was quite impressed with the number of photos
and the feeling of awe and serenity
that overtook him and Ron.

The exhibit is on until October 13
and should not be missed
(especially if you are a horse lover).
Topaz here, over and out!

MOCHA & I ON THE HILL

"Waiting patiently"
 has become my mantra.

Hi Mocha!
I see you finally made it to the hill.
It's really quite an exceptional day here.

WhaHoo!
Look a flying saucer!
4 eyes on it,
are better than 2
in my books.

OK, Ms Mocha so you faked me out
and snatched Mr. Bionic
out of the tall green grass.
Kudoes to you, my friend!

All I can say ~~ Life really is idyllic today
and sharing it with Mocha & her Mommy
well, it's just like frosting on the cake!!!

MOCHA HAS RETURNED!!!

You know when an old friend returns from "off being in the world"
and you both re-connect like nothing has ever happened?
Well ~~~ !!

this is exactly what happened to Mocha and me yesterday.

Massive, Monstrous, Monumental Kisses and Licks
were non-stop on both sides.

Once the first greetings were dispensed with,
I decided I needed to stare at the humans as they devoured lunch.
Chances of a sweet morsel falling to the floor
is always possible.
Right?!

Mocha dove into my stash of squeakie toys
my family of sorts.
She squeezed the be'geesus out everyone of them.
Noise to some is like the sweet whispers of mermaids on the breezes to others.

Around and around we followed each other
getting quite dizzy at one point,
so ~~~

into the living room we found ourselves
tasting each other's tongues.
I heard someone say
"take it to another room you guys!"
Sheesh!

Re-connections really make the heart sing!!
~~~
More to come!!
IT'S ALL IN THE LIGHT
I am one puppy that's been blessed.
Being a DOODLE means you have a bunch of mixed up DNA
which when tossed around results in a surprise every time
and in my case one feature really stands out above the rest!
No matter what angle you want to view me
my blond high-lights
seem to attract so much attention.
I always tell those who say something that
"they are free and no I didn't pay for them!"
Of course, I make sure I stand in good light
to make them that much more spectacular!!
PATIENTLY MELLOWING
High on hill
surveying 360 degrees
I am perched
waiting for the return
of Daddy Jim.
Meanwhile I fetch Mr. O
pant a lot
and cool off in the grass.
I crush you, I crush your head!!
The Kids in the Hall
Ahhh, that feels so much better
I crushed Mr. O
and
cooled off at the same time.
I have a big thing for multi-tasking.
I think I need to ZEN-OUT for awhile.
Nice view, eh!?
with kayakers slipping by
a sailboat and lobster boat too
even a helicopter
and look we are above this feller
so you know what that means ~~
my perch is high up
on top of this old fortress remnants
Jimbo!
I never thought you'd ever return.
Please don't take so long next OK?
(Jim headed over to the northwest side of the park
to hunt for some goodies
while Ron and I mellowed on the east side)
