I AM NOT A CAT !!

~~ High on top of Fort Needham

skirting the snow covered tennis courts 

heading for one of my favourite vantage points

to view and just inhale a deep breath ~~

We have just passed this sign 

slightly disfigured which confirms that ~

"I AM A DOG" !

I'd say that from this end it holds true!

and sticking my nose into the snow
to tunnel pretty much confirms that
"YES"
I know exactly how to perform as a dog
while viewing the Hydrostone area of North end Halifax.

These homes along with most/all of Halifax
are venturing close to a spring thaw.
This winter wallopped us royally
and
it's time for a renewal and refreshing.

and I know how refreshing it is 

to nose dive 

to rub myself 

and 

to dance in the snow

this time of year.

I am more than ready for spring

and 

I know for a fact that

"I AM A DOG"

because what cat would venture up here on this hill?

This is all dogs up here

(even though I am the only one today)

Spring Fever has hit me

and

since "I AM A DOG"

well

watch out!

IS IT NORMAL TO BE PASSED BY PIGEONS?

The other day Ron and I decided to walk around 

the Halifax Public gardens

while Jim attended to a medical appointment nearby.

The sidewalks were littered 

with thousands upon thousands

of leaves and ~

the best chalk graffiti

by someone declaring 

their LOVE for Emily FOREVER.

Inside the gardens were sprinkled with

golden leaves

and

with plenty of empty benches

for anyone to take advantage of.

Around the 3rd corner heading down Sackville Street

I zeroed in on a delightful fragrance.

~ DOODLES having DOODLE TIME

without a care in the world ~

Could that be my mantra for the day?

I discovered this choice gate door 

which was locked

but I was more interested in the scent

attached to the bottom.

Ahhh ~ HEAVEN !

We managed to circumnavigate the perimeter

 and return to the car.

As we sat quietly 

4 people scooted by on segways

I could hear one of them ask ~

"Is it normal to be passed by pigeons?"

(turn up your volume and just listen as the 4th person scoots by)

Such is my life,

but I can tell you 

I would never let pigeons

 (spelled without a "D" for Pete's sake Ron )

pass me, 

EVER!!

WHERE IN THE WORLD IS SUPER MOON #3 ?

Everyone has been talking about 

SUPER MOON #3

so we set out to find this anomaly.

Look it isn't over there in Halifax,

I just see 2 bridges and high-rises.

Maybe it's down on the boardwalk in Eastern Passage

All these peeps seem to be throwing fish lines

out into the water trying to hook 

the SUPER MOON #3

(they better watch out because 

those 2 big huge orbs above them called bokeh

just might flatten them, I think.)

Do you think those are moons?

Far out into the still water

even Mr. Orangie wasn't able to help me,

it didn't matter how many times Jim threw him out there

No, SUPER MOON #3 was appearing.

I really think the fishers thought that their lines could catch the moon.

Even this zippy speed boat slipped by

and they said they couldn't find

SUPER MOON #3 either.

(Look behind you!)

So we decided to leave The Passage 

and all my new friends

 heading to Cow Bay

about a 15 minutes drive down the shoreline.

These birds were congregating on mass

over the water descending to the calmness and rocks below.

Do you see something faintly on the horizon?

Oh yes you do because I sure can!

SUPER MOON #3

being crushed by Jim.

He has awful big fingers to be able to do that,

don't you think?

The bay was absolutely still

as the moon slowly rose into our view.

Then this fellow appeared and stroked effortlessly across the bay

which is the ocean for those who may think this is a lake.

It ain't.

He had the entire place to himself.
He zenned on the water
unbeknownst to us
zenning on the shoreline
finally discovering our
SUPER MOON #3.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JIM

My Daddy Jim will do anything for me

not to mention anything for anyone else

he doesn't / has never put himself first,

I can attest to that.

He'll pose to let Ron take pictures of him through a wonky, wet car wind shield

even if distortion is running rampant.

He especially loves his new adventure selling his retro 50's & 60's kitchen ware.

Doesn't the smile tell it all!

He loves taking me to the park and venturing down a new trail

with scads of people running and walking by.

 He loves taking me to see his Pops

at the veteran's hospital

mainly because he knows I get fed

so much!

He'll jump into the moment for fun,

nothing holds him back

because life is way too short 

for anything else.

Birthdays are meant to be off beat / colourful / side splitting laughter

topped with confetti.

So lighten up lady,

your birthday will be coming soon.

~

BUT today is my Daddy Jim's Birthday

and 

I'm going to be snuggling close

'cause he really deserves it!

(Gees, that lady scares me!)

LIFE IN THE CITY

As I saunter through the grasses at daycare soaking up the view and the moment

my Guys are off on a day with  themselves in the city

ducking under an eavesdrop of this modern building to avoid being pelted by hail

no kidding these things sting when they hit your face

but they were determined to get indoors at the public market 

a stone's throw away

above the public market 

where the view is picture perfect

for the cruise ships that arrive daily

~ the hail was far off in the distance ~

thank goodness!

the discounts fly in your face

to keep the visitors 

in this neighbourhood

instead of having them bus off

to other popular scenic places

 this cool car has caught Jim's eye

keeping him on the trail for the day

these heritage buildings wreak with history 

and now are 2014 modernized

offset with more glass 

and

our flag 

getting ready for 

CANADA DAY 

JULY 1

into MEC ~ 

Mountain Equipment Co-op

they have been members since 1980

when they first lived in Vancouver

where MEC originated

sailing passed fancy restaurants

and pubs

the guys knew they had a good day

and 

headed back to pick me up!

They are so entranced with windows 

no wonder,

look!

~

The thing is, once in awhile, we need to experience our own interests

so I am all about sniffing and licking

and

the guys just love seeing the world from their own

unique perspective.
