IS IT NORMAL TO BE PASSED BY PIGEONS?

The other day Ron and I decided to walk around
the Halifax Public gardens
while Jim attended to a medical appointment nearby.
The sidewalks were littered
with thousands upon thousands
of leaves and ~

the best chalk graffiti
by someone declaring
their LOVE for Emily FOREVER.

Inside the gardens were sprinkled with
golden leaves
and
with plenty of empty benches
for anyone to take advantage of.

Around the 3rd corner heading down Sackville Street
I zeroed in on a delightful fragrance.
~ DOODLES having DOODLE TIME
without a care in the world ~
Could that be my mantra for the day?

I discovered this choice gate door
which was locked
but I was more interested in the scent
attached to the bottom.
Ahhh ~ HEAVEN !

We managed to circumnavigate the perimeter
 and return to the car.
As we sat quietly
4 people scooted by on segways
I could hear one of them ask ~

"Is it normal to be passed by pigeons?"
~~~
(turn up your volume and just listen as the 4th person scoots by)
Such is my life,
but I can tell you
I would never let pigeons
 (spelled without a "D" for Pete's sake Ron )
pass me,
EVER!!
  2. This is a hoot, was she really meaning " Pigeons" as in birds? or was she referring to smaller people?? Never mind, I so like that lovely soft accent, and if this is the one way for me to listen to it , thanks so much. Sophie, you fit in with those coloured leaves perfectly, and the smells, wonder what they are. Take care in the cold, Jean.
    1. I thought so too, Jean.
      I had rolled the window down when I spied the segways ambling up the sidewalk. I see these all summer long with tourists but I thought "hey my last chance at a video" ~ so I turned it on. 4 people would make a short video and I could add it into a post. I actually didn't notice any pigeons flying by until the girl mentioned it. When I played the video back there they were scooting by super fast at the beginning.
      So much fun when I heard the comment.
      Our "SOFT" accent is everywhere here but sometimes it's not so soft when someone is upset and such.
      Glad you enjoyed this ditty!
  4. If I was on on of those contraptions, I'd be watching my p's and q's and not worrying about how fast pigeons can hustle! Nice walk Sophie - I like that you use all your senses. (PS Is Ron giving up photography for videography?)
    1. Hey Barb!? Ron told me that to take on videography would be whole other time-consuming foray. He happy making little ditties every now and again!
      The girl on the segway must have had a handle on the technique to even worry about the pigeons, I guess!
  15. Are segways popular in Nova Scotia? I have never seen one in England ( apart from very occasionally on TV)
    1. Segways, for some reason showed up on our sidewalks within the passed few years. I was surprised at first because I wondered if they were really safe. It appears to be an OK jaunting machine. The tourist bureaus use them extensively. Sometimes when we're sauntering through Point Pleasant Park we are passed by many of these machines at a time. Step aside or get run over I say!
      Cheers!
    1. I agree Carol ~ no one ever considers asking the canines about their view on certain things.
      But hey, I will spill the beans if they do ask!
  18. Thanks for all the beauty (and joy), yet again. I don't know if it's normal to be passed by pigeons but I DO know Walter Pidgeon passed in 1984. That's what Ron was talking about. No spelling error.
