Who's Flying Now?

...at the end of Lawrencetown Beach is a rather large hill
called Hawkin's Hill
which we haven't scaled in a couple of months. So.....

...we headed up and with the fog bank hugging the beach and lowland areas we thought that the view from the top would be pretty much 'nothing'....

...the lake on the east side of the trail is Porter's Lake and was somewhat visible with wisps of fog floating by...

...with Ron lagging behind, I decided to hurry him up and charged down the hill to give him more support...you can do it!

...here I come watch out...YES I WAS FLYING...such freedom and so I continued closing in on Ron with tongue just a waggin'...

...since I FLEW down the hill, I figured I could FLY up the hill...SEE!

...this view was my undoing...Look but don't leap...I know what the guys were saying over and over again!

...just too steep to go down for a swim....I love water and to give this up was so disappointing....

...with most of the lake visible now we headed back...

...we trudged down the hill passed the swamp...you can see I'm on a leash...no chance of diving in today....next time for sure...

...the surfer's were visible now with the lifting of the fog bank...I'ts always the best time because the air smells sweet with salt as well as the new spring/summer grasses...

....speaking of which, Jim taught me how to make beautiful music with a blade of grass...SEE!

...nothing to it, he says, next time....I've got some sniffin' to do....

...and what I mean by 'sniffin', is a Doberman I could sniff from miles away..truly!

...we finally made it back to the boardwalk, had a short rest and proceeded to the car.

Once again, we had a great adventure topped with the blue, blue sky; how soon we forget the gloomy grey foggy day. The return home to the backyard was so welcoming. I love my home!

Shooting A Movie.....!

Today while driving through Halifax we came upon another movie being filmed. We have a lot them being done here because of tax breaks and plenty of different types of architecture in a small area.

Didn't recognize any 'famous' people so I just stared in the hope that a 'doodle' extra was needed....

I put on my pouty, sexy, come hither visage and stared and stared.....what's with them anyway....not their kind?

Such is the life of a would be 'wanna be'.....

So off to the park we drove, running into 2 new friends.....

CHARLIE

LUCY

The daddies talked with Katie the owner, I do believe we have Brooklyn, New York dogs in our park....perfect...

...a little further along we ran into some people taking stats on the trees that were planted after hurricane Juan devastated our park in 2003....one fellow had a great head of dreads and I, for one, think our hair looked pretty much the same.....

...as you can see by the picture of me, a couple of years ago, when my hair was starting to grow...I have the makings of 'dreads'...

Hump Day! Wednesday

Look into my eyes!

Keep looking!

Do not avert your eyes!

Now, that I have your undivided attention!

Take me to the park!

You can't resist these eyes, I know!

Daycare Farm for me!

While everyone else is eating cake at 'Pups' 94th Birthday Party....I am romping with new pals at Country Critter Sitters in Seaforth, Nova Scotia....I haven't been there for a long while. I do enjoy this place....lots of fresh air, 4 legged creatures, fenced in corrals and a beach. As we turn off the Hwy 207 we see this driveway....

My heart starts pounding and I let out a yip!

New friends are waiting at the gate ready to sniff and pounce....I'm ready for anything...

Through the gate we all make the somewhat appropriate greetings and then proceed...

...on the verandah I get the once over from all...

...my routine hasn't changed, for I know Mary and Cathy are in there, so I'll stare and wait for them...

....I noticed the southern view today is hampered with the fog rolling in....

...and in the distance the fog appears in the west...

...the greyness, however enhances the greens and allows other colors to pop...

...to show what it's like when the sun shines, here is a picture of a glorious summer day on the hill in a corralled area with the ocean waves crashing on the shoreline...

...my daddies finally came back to get me. I usually make it somewhat difficult for them because I don't want to leave...as shown in a 2007 visit....

...such is the life of an exhausted blond tipped Labradoodle who spent 8 hours at daycare....

...I look out the back window of the car as the driveway lengthens and disappears from view....I trust Mary and Cathy will be seeing me again soon....however I've got 24 hours of sleep ahead me....truly!

GUILT IS NOT ON OUR MENU !!

Sitting patiently looking out window because I've been told that Jinny is is coming for tea in no less than 20 minutes....well, 'brush my hair and clean my teeth' I better be on best behaviour if I'm going to con her into sharing her banana cake morsels...

See.....I think it's working...stillness(so difficult) is winning her over...I know it will....since Jinny is a veterinarian she could double-cross me so...."con...cen...tration" (pay attention to me)!

After laughs and chuckles, I see Jinny out to her car to find Eliza and Gretel sitting so politely waiting for their run on the beach...off they went and because Jinny forgot her sunglasses Daddy Ron drove after her and returned them to her at the beach...She was so apologetic but appreciative.

a few hours later we were in need of a caffeine fix and sweets so we drove to downtown Dartmouth and found a table on the sidewalk at "Two if by Sea" a relatively new cafe....

as you can see their motto for the day, if not forever, is "Guilt is not on our Menu" ...I truly love the way they think..one of the baristas came out to fondle me (love it)....

the "oohs and aahs" were just fine, so I crept under the table.....hahah....OK...I'll leave it up to you, for I know no one can really see me (wink wink)....Should I or shouldn't I !?
