Canal and River Stroll

Do you see what I see down there in the canal?

It's Mr.Orangie ~~~
(who was neatly in my mouth just a second ago, honest)
 He is now floating peacefully down the canal.

Jim ~~~ please help me!

I didn't realize that the water was so cold and
that Mr. Orangie would tumble down the icy bank.

OK, then I'll manage along the water's edge.

The ice is so crunchy and noisy ~~~ a bit nerve wracking

S-t-r-e-t-c-h ~~~~ there ~~~ I've almost got Mr. O back safely in my clutches

and yes take it from me
the H2O is 'chilly willy' today.

Funny I never noticed this temperature thing before!
Oh well, at least Mr. O is safe and sound.
Keeping a tight jaw on him from now on!

After the canal scenario
we decided to go along the river located nearby.
This place will show you all the ice that was in the river and
the steam rushing along...
(near the 1/2 way mark)
~~~
This is our 1st visit here this year
and next time I'll be in that water for sure!
Well, at least I got to dig a
SNOW HOLE!
(You'll see at the end)
SeaWeed Monster!
As I was galloping down the beach today without a care in the world,
minding my own "busy"ness...
(just look at the video and you'll see I was fetching, dunking and having an all round good laugh)
Teasing is part of my repertoire
 and it is well-known in these parts....
But unbeknowst to me and Ron
hiding in this huge mound of seaweed
was a monster...
please be careful
don't look at it straight in the eyes!
for it's not just any monster...
it's the horrible
 SeaWeed Monster of Lawrencetown Beach.
Do you see it?
Camouflage can sometimes be good thing!
It's hard to imagine that something as scary as this
could come from these waters.
It's down right terrifying!
My Favourite Day!
"What day it is?" asked Pooh.
"It's today." squeaked Piglet.
"My favourite day." said Pooh.
Soft Sunset
Our sunset seemed to have a soft, ethereal gauzy effect this evening
I was contented to just hold Mr. Orangie
and keep an eye on Jim
as he captured some sunset shots.
OCEAN BREEZES
check his view of the sunset
(my video today will show you our sunset
and how energetic
the ocean waves
were crashing on the beach)
We noticed the sunset everywhere....
even in this melting water along the boardwalk.
Look I caught Mr. Orangie
just before he flipped into that water.
Spring is just around the corner.
With water like this coaxing the ice to disappear
and the muted sunsets softened by the mists
our world feels a little more lighter and fresher.
Hydration...so very important!
Here I am all dry, clean and ready for a jaunt ~~~
along  a new path that we discovered at the park today.
We almost slipped passed this pool of water ~~~ a stream ~~~
with a skim of ice covering it with many of last season's leaves frozen in place
Instinct
~~~ DoodleInstinct ~~~
leads me directly into the pool.
I obey ~~~ well ~~~ because I know I have to christen these waters

before any other 4 legger finds it
 making sure it's fresh, running and refreshing

Jim was taking pictures of the pool and it's reflections
as I sauntered through

~~~ sampling the water ~~~
spring water is always so good
can't pass up a hydration moment
always waiting my guys are ~~~
pools are like magnets
honestly
I can't help myself!
Along the Edge ~~~~
This is MacDonald Hill
(the same trail as my header picture above)
although the beauty of this vista is well-known here,
there is also a fear factor that needs to be heeded
down below are the courageous surfers
some would say ~~~ crazy ~~~ I would say daredevils
the edge doesn't phase me in the least
for I live on the edge
see what I mean by fear factor "edge"
it just gives me a thrill to tackle these hills
downward nosedive
and
back up the hill
as if it never happened
you'll see what I mean by walking along the edge
really it doesn't bother me
and at the end I always get my man
and a hug, of course!
Tibetan Prayer Flags ~~~~~
As I sat perched on my stool
meditating and staring out the window this morning....
I realized that we have Tibetan Prayer flags
fluttering in the wind
off of our deck
offering kind words of
peace
wisdom
strength
and
compassion
Someone special in my life
someone far away
across the country
from me
is gathering strength from the thoughts and words
being spread by my flags
For Auntie Elaine
For my Sweet Auntie Elaine!
(at least I call her Auntie!)
On this Valentine's Day
when love and hearts are at the foremost
of everyone's mind....
I want you to feel all of my love, energies and hearts...
the strength from all our family, friends and me...
we are all thinking about at this time!
