ROCKS OF KINDNESS

I insisted that we should go for a walk the other day.
I knew for some uncanny reason
that my decision
would be fruitful
and
most of all
good for the soul.

and most of all
these 2 words
(after flipping over this rock)
They can only give us
HOPE.

JUST SIMPLE CONTENTMENT

Once over the rocks we headed for the river,

flanked by MacDonald House
 looking very much like Wuthering Heights.
We stopped to dig holes
because Stony Beach is made for "HOLE DIGGIN' " !

Running full speed ahead with an eye on the edge

because the tide is gouging away the sides
of the river as it always does when it is going out.

Here is Jim helping nature eat away at the edge.

While he does that I swim and I fetch.
Far off in the distance in that small beach pool,
everything is viewed under the watchful eye of a heron.

There s/he goes silently over the waters
heading for the salt marsh on the other side of the hill.

Contentment really is all I seek out
and contentment is what I always find.

The sun sets much earlier as we step into fall,
so it's time to retire
and
talk over the day's events
as we head home
just down the road.

CASHMERE GREY ~ RYTHM & CERULEAN BLUES ~ DEEP MANDARIN ORANGE

My day!
My sandy, driftwoody, bouldery
24 hours on the beach ~

run the colour spectrum
from soft muteds to rich exuberants

 Right now I'm helping my new friend
who just happens to be ruddy red
offsetting the soft greys of the ocean and sky

the titch of baby blue streaks across in the distance
as the lone surfer waits patiently
(oh my they do have patience)

swooping past like aerial artistes
these birds dive-bomb
looking for insects
before heading south

Then from out of nowhere
the blues
grab your attention and draw you in even further.

 More birds clamour for position
with lift off and landing gears
ready at any moment.

My life on the beach erupts into more JOY
than I could ever imagine

as the vibrancy of reds and oranges
reflect Mr. Orangie,
making it so much easier to see him
and to zero point snag him
once again.

I trot towards the sun
expecting but a brief moment of
"Ooohs and Aaaahs"
from the onlookers.

"Come on along!"
This is one of those times
that you can feel the colours
feel them coursing through your veins.

Thanks so again for putting up
with my DOODLE NONSENSE.
It does take plenty of us to make the world go 'round.

DOODLE POWERS ARE TWITCHING AGAIN!!

After a long summer of greetings and licks,
Daddy Jim succumbed to a 24 hour bug today.

I am always waiting for the guys to ascend over the grassy dunes
and then descend to the beach below ~

but this morning was a bit slower than usual
"my Doodle Powers and all"
 could zone in on it
~ just like snapping your fingers ~

I did my familiar jaunt
up and down
the beach with ease and speed.

The surfers were learning their craft
as is the familiar scene this time of year.

such Joy in the water this time of year

but when I turned around to come back
with my faithful retrieval
Daddy Jim had returned to the car,
I knew something was up.
So Ron and I continued for a few more rounds and
then headed back to the car
and then home
for a snoozy day.

IN MY HUMBLE OPINION

This morning Ron took me for a much needed early morning beach walk ~~~

so that I could get my beach legs back in order again.
Look ~ you can see 2 sea gooseberries in front of me.
As I mentioned HERE these blobs are out in numbers this year it seems.

This video made up of 2 walks today
AM & PM
will show you the drama  in the sky
but that doesn't stop me.

In the afternoon,
1/2 way down the rocky outcrop
the sun broke through the clouds and
lit up my my NATURALLY BLOND 'COILS' !!

The skies were heavy with thick ominous clouds
only permitting a moment of sunshine to slip through.

You could feel the clouds pressing down
as we followed the path.

But as I said,
Mother Nature just doesn't scare me
in the slightest.
She is just too beautiful in my humble DOODLE opinion.

BACK ON THE ROCKS

Hi Ho!
I'm over here just to Jim's right hiding in the grass.

Apparently the rest of the country
was being blanketed with white white snow
while we were drenched in rain ~~~

thus the mist / warmer temps cover the shoreline

making all the rocks a beautiful shade of dark gray
and ruddy brown

The important thing is
~~~ Ron is taking my picture again ~~
and photos of seafoam
wet rocks
and beautifully graceful seagulls
flying overhead.
MR. ORANGIE'S PLIGHT
Mr. Orangie helps me keep my composure
most of the time
but when the ocean beckons well
we rocket over the dunes together always waiting
which allows enough time to sniff out something/anything
that may have been washed up on the shore
we know that there's something intriguing here
but all we get is SNOWBALL MOUTH this time of year
Oh Mr. Orangie you don't think you are going to get away from me today do you?
Such is Mr. Orangie's plight
with so many rocks stopping Mr. Orangie's get-away fast
Somebody has to be in control in this DOODLE WORLD, eh!?!
