MR. ORANGIE'S PLIGHT

Mr. Orangie helps me keep my composure

most of the time

but when the ocean beckons well
we rocket over the dunes together always waiting
which allows enough time to sniff out something/anything

that may have been washed up on the shore

we know that there's something intriguing here

but all we get is SNOWBALL MOUTH this time of year

Oh Mr. Orangie you don't think you are going to get away from me today do you?

Such is Mr. Orangie's plight

with so many rocks stopping Mr. Orangie's get-away fast

Somebody has to be in control in this DOODLE WORLD, eh!?!

  1. And there I was, thinking he had been washed right out in that huge blue water, far beyond your paws. Thank goodness all is well, Sophie, great photos there with you . Cheers to all at your place, Jean.

  2. We're sure Mr O KNOWS who's boss. Actually, we were thinking it's good he is Mr Orangie and not Mr Grey, or White...

A snowy beach, sounds like an oxymoron.

  5. OOOOO your brave!! I don't like snow. But then I am tiny tiny - don't have a nice shaggy coat like you. and it looks like you never stop running, so that should keep you warm!! Good job on catching the ball.

    1. Not everyone likes SNOW which is OK because I wouldn't want you to go outside and get lost in a snowbank!

      Not fun at all!!

I`ll keep running to keep warm these days for sure!

  10. You're too funny, Sophie! Snowball Mouth!!!!! I've noticed that Rufus and Gracie get Snowball Mouth, too! I have my fingers crossed that I will get up to the mountains this weekend ~ There has been EPIC snow in Breckenridge. So far this season Breck has been hammered with 291 inches of snow (24.25 feet/7.39meters). It has gotten 41 inches in the past seven days (3 feet 5 inches/1.04 meters). Good thing Noreen invested in a snowblower this year! What a change for the labs from New Delhi, India! You and Mr. Orangie go together like bread and butter! Stay warm!

    1. Yowsers, that is a load of WHITE STUFF!

I would love that though as long as the asthma is held in check!

Lately the mornings have been crystal clear / cold / bluebird skies but that dang ol' chest tightening just curbs they excitement and photography!!

  11. Hey, SD! Just read your reply to my comment yesterday ~ Duh! I'm backwards again!!!!! So sorry to hear that you are playing nursy ~ AGAIN! Those dads of yours have been going through way too much lately. You need to tie them to their bed until they are AOK. You could run around the house with Mr. Orangie in your mouth and pretend you are on Conrad Beach. That's what I've been doing in the cold cold here ~ house walking! Asthma and cold, damp weather don't go together like you and Mr. Orangie. And the flu! Can you order in chicken soup??? Seriously, Gurlfriend, you've got to make those guys take it e-a-s-y!

    1. Oh they are TAKING IT EASY, it's Mother Nature's persistent astronomical weather changes that have clobbered them, LouLouDoodle!!
The January Thaw Jan 13th week was the beginning of it with Ron Boy ASTHMA ATTACK then Jim to Emerg on Jan 27th followed by Ron in Emerg on that Friday. The weather flip flopped around so it just was unbearable. Jim just got hit by the fly bug again, so fast it hit along with 4 bouts of Silent Migraines.
I think the migraines were triggered by the flu and overcast weather.
      Ain't gettin' old fun!?!
      Not in the least!!!

I'll snuggle with them which I know helps!!!

    1. Hi Sharon!
Sophie ran through that snow-covered field so fast that I couldn't believe her excitement. She would have gone completely over the slope to the beach but being so concerned about me she knew she had to wait, if it only was for a few seconds!
Mr. Orangie is like a soother to her, she will never lose him!
She may chew him up but she'll never misplace him!

  15. Hi Y'all!

Love to see the ocean in the winter. My Humans lived on the ocean in Boston one year. They used to walk for miles on the beach at night with the little Basenji they had at the time. I think my Humans would have enjoyed living on the ocean full time, but one must make a living to supply a fellow such as myself with food and yummies.

Boston beaches are the best! We have walked on Cape Cod beaches and really love how you can get lost all by your lonesome! It's the best feeling.
Now I totally understand the munchies and foody things for your diet, Hawk! They are so special taking such good care of you!!
