CALM B4 THE STORM

Whenever we reach the middle part of the each week this winter
we have had a snow event
from beautiful light fluffies falling to massive dumpings
clogging our driveway.

So I am bound and determined to get my exercise in
before Mother Nature shows us her wrath.

This ginormous snow / rain storm
which the weather stations love to build up to Armageddon proportions
should whiten us and wash all our sins away.
At least that's what it sounds like,
so I'll just catch Mr. O on the fly
and just keeping truckin' along.

Sometimes I just like to float
both pictures above prove that very fact.

If you have some time and want to see some icicles on my beach ~~~ click and enjoy!
(Please excuse Ron's attempt at narration
he has laryngitis and he sounds muffled sometimes)

I now whether you watched the video or not!
See my eye looking up at you!?
Well, it's got DOODLE VIDEO ESP!

OK, folks ~~ it's time to go home
so we can hunker down for ANOTHER storm.
Somebody up there ain't happy with us this year.

  1. Our weather man changes our forecasts every 12 hours. For a bit there he said warm and sunny for the weekend, now it's back to chances of rain and cloudy, cloudy, cloudy. I do love your sunshine and clear blue skies!

  8. I loved this post, Ron! And the video! I'm so sorry that you are still not feeling well. Do you remember Debbie M.? She lived across the street from our school in a second story apartment. Well, if I ever coughed at her place from a cold, her mother would make me this wretched cherry bark tea. It was quite effective! It was so wretched that it may have scared my cold out of me. Also my great grandmother swore by hot milk with ginger and also boiled onions in a sugary syrup. Are you surprised I'm still alive? LOL! Take care my friend! Poor Mr. Orangie! What a life he leads. I'm very fond of him, especially when he sports his Broncos' colors every day. Isn't Canada doing an awesome job in the Olympics? Yeah!

    1. Gees Louise(LOL) who is this Debbie M? I went out with Debbie Maxner in University but she lived on Chestnut Ave. I can't figure out who she is on Acadia St. I'll rack my brains on this "until the cows come home" for sure. The cherry bark tea sounds like I need to check out. Jim and I have tried every kind of alternative tea mixture available to mankind it seems over the years. We visited a friend in Toronto years ago and went to a Chinese healer who ended suggesting we drink one of his concoctions made from antlers + many other worldly things. Boil it on the stove until it looks like tar then down her in one gulp. Oh my that was an experience in itself. Look it must have worked we are still here. LOL

Hot milk and ginger sounds civilized because I use ginger for indigestion concerns which have plagued my all my life. I believe it's inherited from my maternal side because Mom and GM both had problems.

The Olympics is on 24/7 right now. We just finished watching the men's short skating program ~~ everyone was falling. it seems so strange to see this because other years they never showed the people who fell, only those in the top 10. The Japanese guy could take it, but need less to say I rooting for Patrick Chan!

Laryngitis haunts me every Feb so I'm laying low and learning some new things on the internet etc.

      Later gater!

    2. Yoh, I remembered her name ~~~ Monnon! This was my paper root so I should know. The Monnon's moved a few years later down to Summer St and lived there until the parents passed away. Karen & Debbie were sisters. Karen and her mother attended my Mom's funeral in 1998. I was so surprised but so happy to see them. Mrs. Monnon was a sweetheart and Mr. M cut my hair. Anyway, so she had a tea that worked so very cool!

    3. Hey, Ron! I thought her last name was Molyneau or something like that. but maybe it was Monnon because that sounds very familiar and right too. It was so long ago! I'm rooting for Patrick Chan too! It was sad to see Evgeni Plushenko fall and retire. He was incredible to watch. And, of course, everyone took a deep breath when U S skater Jeremy Abbott hit the ice with his hip and slam into the boards. These athletes make everything look so effortless, and it makes you forget how dangerous what they're doing is. Actually, I'm rooting for everyone Canadian, often to the disgust of Terry! Hope the latest storm isn't slamming you today! And Happy Valentine's Day to you and Jim!

    4. The storm turned into a rain event and then wind, so much wind. Today Saturday we went to the beach and took pictures of a Snowy Owl ~~ a real beauty. I put some pics on FB if you are interested.
So you think it's Moylneau, it could be but I didn't know her. I only knew the Monnon's!
I'm sure Terry gulps every time a Canadian comes on the TV ~~ tell him he was just born in the wrong country!
Waiting for the men's and women's hockey. I worked with the female coach on the women's team. Lisa she is a twin with Lesley and they both are athletic. So cool to actually know someone at the Olympics!

  9. I like after you stopped digging for Mr. Orangie you looked up at Ron as if to say, "Why are you talking funny Ron?" LOL> And I loved how you were digging in the snow for Mr. Orangie. Gracie likes burying her face in the snow too. So now you know... yes, I did watch the video and I very much enjoyed it. The ocean looks beautiful... but ... brrrrrrrrrrrr it looks cold. We are digging out of about a foot and a half of snow right now. Hope Ron and Jim are feeling better!!

    1. The snow is every where this year. I can't remember a year like this since the 1950's. Can only hope it's only this year.

Mr. Orangie loves teasing Sophie and is adept at that for sure.

We are slowly trying to get ourselves back to pre-flu and pre-asthma times in early January. Can't go backwards for sure but hopefully we'll learn from the passed month's medical issues! Thanks for asking and now it's time to go and catch Mr. Orangie!

  11. ♪♫ I believe I can fly... ♫♪ Pretty amazing, Sophie. I didn't know Doodles can fly like that. You are full of surprises!

Hahaha...I was laughing watching you stick your head in the snow in the video, Sophie! You really do love to play in the snow. So many beautiful sights and sounds on that beach. And considering his cold still lingering, daddy Ron didn't sound too bad as he narrated. He must be feeling much better.

      I know I do!

The snow just sends me into gales of Doodle Giggles when Mr. Orangie decides to dig south, if you know what I mean!

The guys are being careful with their "issues" ~~~ a little of this and little of that with my snuggles is helping!

      They told me so!!
