WINTER'S WINDS

200 cms (78 inches or 6.5 ft) of snow
have fallen upon us since early December
along with the winds
those harsh blowing North Atlantic winds

that straighten my hair
with one blast
 no de-tangler
in my back pocket required

nor need I worry about the frizz-look
embarrassing me at the local mall.

There's no way
anyone could survive the ferocity

except maybe the occasional gull

even the cargo tankers have to wait out the strength
of Mother Nature's continual onslaught

but with all this being said
Nature's Beauty
just appears on the horizon
with the ocean spray
ignited by the sun's rays
flashing through the clouds.

Hmm ~~ how about baby shampoo?!!

My regular shampoo has aloe and oatmeal in it and I love it!!!

      That might help!!

      Good Luck!!

  7. Wow, SD! Your hair says it all ~ even better than the sea spray blowing off those big waves. Doesn't that make you feel alive?! It does me. I can just imagine the sounds. 200 cms (78 inches or 6.5 ft) of snow is mega snow for Nova Scotia! I'm glad you live with Dads who will take you out to enjoy the windy seascape! Have fun! Don't get too cold! Hi to your awesome Dads!

    1. Of course, this measurement is a winter's accumulation number because the rains always come and wash our sins away, every time!

      Guess what?

We have 3 storms this week ~~ Tues night / Wed night / Sat night ~~~ oh YAY ~~ NOT in the least!!

Here comes the rain, freezing ice and pellets!!!

Doesn't that make you wanna move home!?!

      Not so much? OK then!!!!

    1. The huge spray was everywhere today, Jean!

It really is magnificent when you catch it from an unusual angle.

As we were driving down the straight stretch to the each we could see the spray far away and it looked like billowing smoke.

Such an odd sensation when we realized what it truly was.

Other years my hair was SHORT SHORT SHORT so I shivered a lot.

  17. The shots of the big combers are awesome Ron! I enjoy walking beaches during and in the aftermath of storms, even though the wind can peel the skin right off of you when it is cold sometimes. This is true freedom.

    1. Hi Mark!

It's been a long winter hasn't it. The winds can certainly put you in your place. This view on MacDonald Hill just before Lawrencetown Beach is ALWAYS windy and whenever someone needs a reprieve from hot summers , well this is the perfect place to be. I just love to tempt fate I guess and bare my soul in all seasons.

Oh man it's friggin' cold this day!
