STRONG WINDS

Strong south west winds have been pummeling the province all day
which means the para-surfers are in heaven.

Far below MacDonald House,

as these two onlookers had been veiwing

you'll find Jim clicking like crazy

for the latte sea
caused by
the super fine salt sea mist,
relentless winds
and
pending sunset

keep my ears and toes alert
ready for a fast dash to the car

(this will give you an idea ~ apologies for the wind sound)

Such is my life after a rain and wind storm
which dropped a month's worth of rain ~
almost like a hit and run!
Like in "Straight Up"
sung by Paula Abdul.

couldn't resist this connection folks!!!

  1. Wow, that is some wind, just like what we had here at the weekend. Your photo, between videos, out of this world, Sophie, tell your Dad to enter a competition right now, is he listening?? Cheers, Jean.

    1. Jean the wind was relentless yet warm (southwest winds are always warm) being pushed up from the U.S. south. We stood in amazement at the paragliders and the birds trying to manage the wind currents. At one point we were walking along the edge high up and zip 3 birds popped up in front of us almost looking like they were in heaven. They so enjoyed the moment. Too quick to take pictures, but I know I would have in I was prepared.

Thanks for the reminder re: photo contest I am considering the contest you emailed to me. Many thanks BTW!!!

    1. Hey Inger! Thanks so much!

Our walk on the hill was so exhilarating because of the ferocity of the winds, warm winds at that. The waves from one angle are long and wide while the last photo they appear to be on top of each other. Such if our experience with Mother Nature. The hill affords magnificent views at any time of year.

Thanks for dropping by and HUGS to the pooches!1

    1. Hey Sharon ~~ Sophie gets a little antsy when the winds get out of control ~ not a happy camper in the least.

      She managed though!!

  4. I don't like the wind and the rain. We're very fortunate here in the UK as we are enjoying an Indian summer and it is officially autumn now.
I do hope all is well with you.
    Take care x

    1. Autumn has finally descended upon us too ~ leaves are turning all colours ~ the air has a perky chill to it ~ more layers of clothing has become the norm.

Sophie curls up a lot trying to stave off the inevitable winter that will greet us soon.

4 seasons are something we are so very used to!

      All the best, Eileen!

  6. Oh no, cyclonic winds! Winds have been picking up here lately, too, but not (yet) like that. Your images are magical! Clearly you're "just having fun."

    1. These winds were not forecasted (at least as far as I know) ~ so when Jim visited the beach in the morning with Sophie he returned with the stories about the wildness of the surf. We then returned later that day, so glad we did!!

Yes, the images are becoming our new passion I think. I discovered a few editing steps that are kind of cool. Undoubtedly there will be more!

      Thanks for your kindness!

  10. Love the wind sounds. Impressive. That hill is one of my favourite spots in Nova Scotia. Still can't believe I haven't met up with you all there yet.
