MY CIRCLE GAME

My Circle Game
has gone
7 1/2 times around the seasons ~~

climbing hills and walking trails
so familiar
and
serene

leaping joyfully
when Jim joins us
after shop time

and standing stalwartly
staring off into the western skies.

Listening to Tom Rush's version of The Circle Game

always puts me in a pensive
and
oh so calming mood

the thing though
that I know so very deeply
 is
 the security
and
the love
I have from my guys!

    1. Yes, her rendition is captivating. I could listen to Joni 24/7. Tom Rush's version is dear to my heart because it's a right of youth remembrance thingie. He's the first person that I had heard singing it, over and over again I might add!

    1. So much to be thankful for this year especially.

I've only been on the planet for 7 1/2 years and they have been jammed packed.

    1. Sophie just leaned over and winked at me. She said "I feel like someone is hugging me right now! Huh, What is that all about?"

  11. What a lovely post, Ron! I love this song, but I hadn't heard this version. You are an amazing photographer and a wonderful storyteller. You share sweet Sophie and your world with all of us, and what I feel is the love you are sending out everywhere. Have a great weekend, my friend!

    1. Tom Rush in 1968 was the only person by that time that I had heard singing this version. His album was played over and over day in and day out. I had forgotten about him over the decades until one day I said to Jim ~ Do you remember the Tom Rush album of 1968 called "The Circle Game"? He hadn't so I started my quest and then before he knew it he had listened to the album which made me feel so good. The music was slow and not in your face ~~ almost flower childlike for the times maybe. Anyway, Tom Rush makes me happy and I hope makes others happy too.

I must go listen to another of his songs now!

      Bye Bye!!

    1. "HOPE" is a good word, but guidance is also another which I lack in entirety. Something will happen one of these days as my horoscope suggested the other day. I am a slave to horoscopes!

      Winks!
      Ron for HRH!!

    1. Tom Rush was a stable for me 1968 my first summer of university. I had a friend who introduced me to him along with may other 60's folk singers. I've always enjoyed TR's low voice, contemplative manner in singing.

I'm glad that I was able to introduce him to you!

      Cheers!
