IN THE COMPANY OF ONE CROW ~~~~

We discovered a new 'to us' park on Sunday
called Hemlock Ravine Park.
As we maneuvered the trails hilly, curvaceous and narrow
we rounded this corner and there it was
A LONE CROW
Do you see it?

OK, normally I totally ignore birds

but this time something came over me

I was possessed leaping
LICKETYSPLIT
over the bank without a worry in the world.

Get back here ~~ this is not going to be embarrassing
if I have anything say about it!!

Oh HI!
Were you actually watching me?
CROW?
WHAT CROW?
Nothing here but me and the chickadees!!

    4. It's Wednesday where you are ~ Tuesday where I am. Hope you're not getting nailed with piles of snow. We won't talk about where I am!

    5. The snow just began about an hour ago and it's expected to last all day ~~ you should see the gusts of white stuff everywhere. We get a major snowstorm like this every 10 years, last time I was on a conference staying at Oak Island Inn and had to stay there 3 days because we couldn't get out of the hotel. This year ~~ at home ~~ nice and cozy!!

  6. Sophie, we consider crows to be flying cats. They tease us, so we HAVE to chase them. Good work!

    1. Phew ~~~~~ I didn't want the N.S. Bird Society to think that I chase birds with a SMILE on my face! They might kick me out of their society!

      As if!!

Mitch, the iRONic (PUN intended) thing is 50 years ago Ron walked in this park with his cousin who lived one street over. He hadn't been there in that long. It was a moving and cathartic moment as he drove up the street to the park entrance, got out of the car and began to walk. So technically it wasn't new but he had forgotten about the place!!!

Such is this small world of ours!!!

Sophie *pressing chin on Ron's lap* Doodle here!!

    1. We have a property overseer high in our aspen trees that keeps guard and makes sure I keep out of trouble.

So high in the tree and can see little ol' me sniffing around every morning!!

  10. SophieDoodle lost her fur ~ can spring be far away? As for the crow, Samson says, birds are a waste of time. I'm hot into gopher madness, they're popping up everywhere in MY land.

    1. Ron and I are both on meds right now ~~ ME with my UTI situation and Ron trying to understand what's happening with his. He has a doctor's appointment on Thursday(day after big storm event, AGAIN) so we'll see if the Dr changes anything.
He's been walking his favourite trails, but only 1/2 as much because he gets rubbery legs. Jim continues on the trail with me so we can get our heart rates up. Back to the car with Ron and he rests waiting patiently. It's an unexpected challenge which throws him off some days and other days he is sort of OK.

As long as I can keep an eye on him and press my chin on his knee I'm sure he'll get through these next few months of learning.

Thanks for asking and hugs to Samson!!
