Cherries or Plums?

Any idea which one's are cherries and which one's are plums?
Jim and I know!
......Hazard a guess!.....
 They both smell so good.
Even if we have had only....1....yes....ONE.....day of sun this May,
the garden looks amazing and is blooming like it has never bloomed before...!!!!

  1. I'm clueless. Hopefully that's not a general statement.

  2. I asked Stumpy. She gave them a snoof and then a snuffle and said they were plum blosssoms. I don't know if she's ever seen or smelled a plum. But, she's never been wrong when it involves something edible!

I'm glad the garden looks good, that's almost redeeming with regard to the lack of sun!

  3. Well, who cares what they are if they're that pretty and smell good, too! I love the blossoms, and the photography is great. One day of sunshine in May? Maybe that's why I live in the South... it's going to get 90 degrees F today and I am loving that heat!

  8. Hi Y'all!

Here in the southeast the flowering tree blossoms are so long departed and the fruits are ripening, so we can't race into the yard to check.

However, the way the trees are shaped in the pictures I'd guess those are cherry.

The plums we have are shaped differently with long thick branches with flowers on them. Our cherry trees have long stems off the branches with the flowers on the stems. Also our plum trees have deeper pink blossoms. But we also have some cherries with a pale pink blossom as well as white.

    So Sophie...tell us!

  12. I'll play!! I'm going to guess plum blossoms...Cherry blossoms are usually connected by a long stem to the branch. Plum blossoms are usually (but not always) stuck right on the branch and most have five petals...Or is it the other way around.....
