Me and my Croci!

See, these are a few pale yellow croci under one of my many maple trees!

Up close they are such a delicate shade of pale yellow.

These blue/purple ones are hardy fellers with their neon orange stamens.

These Sieberi are hiding under an azalea.

Here comes Ron pointing out some more croci near the espaliered apple trees.

Most of the time I'm tearing around the garden and
Ron thought it appropriate to show you how I see crocus
when I'm whizzing by!

Now that I'm settled I can again, appreciate the delicateness
and singular beauty of these early and much loved harbingers of spring!

  4. They're beautiful! I used to see wild crocuses in Manitoba when I was a kid. They're smaller, closer to the ground and more of a smoky purple than these. Aboriginals call them the "ears of the earth" -- listening for Spring.

  9. Yes, I guess you're right. There are some signs of spring here. I just have to be positive and look past the sudden snow falls in April.
