SHORT SWIM & SHAKE

We returned to one of our favourite trails today
a canal which sneaks along  quietly from a dam
to a section that controls the water
into the Gaspereau River.

The Goldenrod is seriously brilliant today
and
there is no chance Mr. Orangie
is going to go missing
because I have great Doodle Radar.

Short and sweet
a video to show you
my Doodle Stroking Style.

The bees were on super pollen pick up patrol.
The sound was amazing,
everywhere.

I watched Jim capture some photos
of the Goldenrod while I munched on a salad.

The cacophony of colours
purple
gold
yellow
greens
all came together
to brighten our journey.

This is exactly how it looked
and felt today.

SOmeone posted a sign for us to see what the stuff looked like. Had never encountered it before, so now we are aware.

  3. Glad the bank's not too steep, so you can nip down for a short swim.
    The summer colours are beautiful.
That plant is not called Goldenrod for nothing :-)

    1. The golden colour was extra super brilliant today, must be the sunshine's angle along with the blue skies and dark coloured water. It all works for us!!

  6. I love the sound of bees! It saddens me that I haven't seen that many this year. There has even been a shortage of butterflies :(

Anyway, these photos are spectacular! The beautiful shades of summer!

    1. We saw one monarch butterfly because the area has a lot of milkweed, hopefully there were more there but just hiding. The bees were prolific, so maybe it's just in your area. I kow about the bee problem. Sure hope things come around!

  11. Gorgeous post, Ron! Great swimming, Sophie Doodle! I know what goldenrod means ~ summer is flying by into fall! :( We get some goldenrod here in Colorado, but not like the beautiful goldenrods in NS. This post shows NS weather at its best. I was familiar with El Nino, but not the NAO ~ so thanks for cluing me in on it! If I consider it, maybe I'll get better weather the next time I go to NF! Have an awesome day!!!!!

    1. Hey Louise!

Yes, summer is slipping by and we feel the autumn temps in the air now ~~~ YAY!! Absolutely no complaints at our house because heat is too humid here along with mugginess ~~ cool temps brings on clear and fresh minds.

NAO was brand new to us as well ~~ but now I understand why we have such an unusual climate. El Nino is welcome of course because of the warm short winters.

Hope you made some bucks at the slots!!

      Ron

Your golden rod is blooming? We don't see that here in the low country, but I bet when we get back to the mountains it will be bloomin' everywhere.
