Chartreuse!

Chartreuse
the color
has always caught my Dad's eye.

In nature the colour
seems to be everywhere this spring.

While I am vigilant with the safety of Mr. Orangie ~~~

all around the spring colours are emerging

and I for one am so very happy and content

even if it's a rainy Maritime day along the canal.

You see chartreuse has been painted all across the landscape
and it is just as colourful
as the autumn reds and oranges
I do believe the colour is so much more pronounced
because of the grey skies.

  1. Stunning colour, and what a huge change from just a few weeks ago, your springtime has arrived. Greetings from Jean

    1. Chartreuse is one our favourite colours. The blending of greens/yellows/pales are so beautiful. The rains have been with us for a week now, so the growth spurt has been enormous with mammoth shows of grasses/leaves/flowers, such is spring time here in Nova Scotia!

  2. Beautiful green shades! Don't you just love it? The earth is waking up, and Mother Nature's babies are rising. I bet there's a spectacular contrast between Mr. Orangie and all the greenery.

    1. There sure is a great contrast of colours and I do believe Mr. Orangie accents this change! No chance of losing her in a sea of verdant!

Loads of grass to share for the horses. Need any?!

  8. Oh it's all looking very pretty over there, we have a cold rainy day, my little puppy was caught out in the rain, but had a nice warm bat

    1. Puppies need to be kept safe ~~ rain can wash them away if they aren't careful. I was wondering why it wanted a warm bat, then I read the next post ~~~ kind of funny!

  9. Those soft greens of early spring are very special and gone so quickly! You're right, the grey softens the colours.

    1. Alex ~~ Fr-Fr-frost?

We have a saying, the farmers actually, do not plant your vegetable garden until the full moon in June. The chance of frost is always there up until that time. It would seem that our area might be the same as yours. Never know when the frost could visit and destroy all the apple/peach/pear tree blossoms. A definite seasonal worry every year!

    2. We have "Eisheilige" :)http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eisheilige Until then it could freeze... so noooo planting flowers. But then you normaly can... May we have: 15 to 24°. But this year it´s just COLD!

Hm there was a star it was called SUN... *bwahahahah* *brrrrrrrrrrrrrr*

  14. Thanks for sharing the beauty of nature where you are. The color BEIGE would best describe how the canyon looks this spring. I have not seen it this way since I we got the place 8 years ago. So I enjoy all the blogs that are full of spring's bounty. Thanks, my doodle friend for this.

  19. I call it "spring green"--- and I love it too-- it's my favorite spring color. I love seeing all the different colors of greens amongst the trees in the hills. It's such a welcome sight after a long gray winter. You captured this new fresh color beautifully in the photos--

    Xoxo
