WICKED GRAY & ORANGE

Yes I smell snow
I really do,
well maybe with a whiff of seaweed mixed in.

These people are planning on visiting MacDonald House
because the winter coldness
has finally descended upon us
(enticing hot meal helps)

This evening's view is more than just breath taking
it's awe-inspiring at the same time.

The golden orange
is streaking across the blades of dried grass ~

and these globes of camera trickery
bounce off the waters into the dunes.

The surfers have finished and
are readying to go home ~

but I am so full of energy

especially with these snow clouds
dropping swaths of crystals
all over the point across the waters.

  1. Gorgeous sunset, love the orange. Looks too cold for me!
It probably gets you 'clicking your heels' like the horses in this weather!

    1. Clicking heels for sure Sharon!

Sophie just takes off and leaves us behind wondering why we don't keep up.

We are more interested in the view than eating seaweed!

I hear your world is -30 C ~ I have never experienced that ever.

Come to think my nose has a gorgeous shade of robin egg blue appearing. Time to put on my face mask!

  7. Gorgeous photos. I am amazed at the surfers. Going out in cold water....surfing must be a lot of fun. I love walking in cold air, but getting wet is another story. Do they wear some sort of dry suit to handle the temperatures? The scenery at your beach is so pretty and MacDonald House is a treasure.

    1. We wear layers light weight layers which can be removed if one gets over-heated. We learned as children if you want to go out in the cold and have fun or enjoy then you must be layered. Our world is a layered world as all Canadians know all too well. The trick is to find just the right clothing and every year it's on the top of our list. Some really nice stuff out there if you need any leads.

Cheers and stay warm for us!!

PS: Sophie Doodle even has her own PURPLE JACKET now!! HAPPY FACE!

  9. I found your blog a few weeks ago and I'm now a faithful follower. Beautiful photography, great captions, I'm already in love with Sophie. I'm at the extreme other side of our beautiful country - Vancouver Island.

    1. Welcome aboard Jean ~ Vancouver Island ~ love your world so much ~ we used to live in Vancouver and travelled to the Island a few times. Actually we spent the millennium 1999 - 2000 changeover in Victoria. I do miss your world.

Our world is heavily influenced by the North Atlantic weathers so major events happen which draw us to the ocean seashore. Sophie truly is a swimmer at heart and as soon as we say "car" or "beach" well we are off to the one of the 3 beaches nearby.

Thanks again for following and if you have any questions feel free and ask. Questions need answers, right !!!

  13. Gorgeous, Ron! How did this one get by me? Nova Scotian surfers are die-hards ~ Me, I'll take a hot meal at MacDonald House! Love the photo of SD running, and that stunning last photo. Photo card! In addition to selling individual photos of Jim's and yours, I think you should print up some note cards with your photos and box them. Take care, my popular friend. You are increasing my hits on my blog w/ Birthday Boy!
