    1. Tweedles & Moms ~~ life throws curves at us when we least expect them.

We were just discussing this the other day with certain situations that have developed in the passed few months then BAM Jim says " You know what, I'm having those migraines again. No headache, just those auras". Instantly, everything was changed.

What we have learned is that many, many people have this problem and that there are many, many variations on this theme.

Taking one step at a time and moving slowly.

      Thanks and hugs to Tweedles!

    1. Thanks Martha ~~~ Jim is laying fairly low, trying not to aggravate anything. This migraine stuff just comes from out of the blue which adds to the stress levels. We went to another emerg this a.m. for a 2nd opinion and more information. We learned a lot more and now are just taking one day at a time.

Take care of you and yours.

    1. Jim had his 1st Tweek last night but we are still trying to figure out if it took because 1/2 hour after he took his meds he had another episode. This time the aura was super strange and unnerved him. We went to Emerg in Halifax on Saturday morning for a 2nd opinion. Jim feels a bit better now because he understands this curse better. Laying very low right now resting his noggin!!

    1. Sophie can be very attentive when she wants to be and I HAVE to be very QUICK with her head turns ~~ as you can see I was..

2nd Emerg visit for another POV ~~ it was quick and supportive ~~ not much more than that. Jim has learned that MANY people suffer from these type if migraines and we ran into a few today.

      Thanks for helping!!

  13. In the rush and craziness of my last few days, I've read snippets on FB and I hope Jim is feeling better. Know that we are sending lots of love and healthy, "quiet" vibes from across the border.

PS: I see that you also got the same spam comment from webmicra too.... I deleted it, and hope that the spammers haven't found another way to comment on blogs...

  15. I suffer from the same kind of migraines. Light shows galore. They've been getting more and more frequent, which is unnerving. I know how scary it is to see lights that don't really exist. I also find that my brain doesn't seem to work right while the light show is underway - I have trouble with "finding words" when I talk.

For me, the light shows started a few years ago, and now I've started actually getting headaches after the light show. So, like your daddy Jim, I've been trying to find help. I have new meds to try next time.

I send all sorts of positive thoughts and vibes. I hope that your Daddy feels better very very soon.

As usual, I love your photos. It is always a visual treat to visit.

    1. We are finding that these migraines are so prevalent and we call them "silent migraines" which infers 'within', nobody else can see or hear them. Jim's began in early 2008 which he thinks were stress induced along with family genetics. He suffered a concussion in Feb that year which triggered more auras. He suffered with regular bouts of auras for 1 1/2 years until Sept 2009 when he had a heart attack. This was a blessing in one way because he was prescribed a Beta Blocker which has turned out to be a way of stopping these migraines. The doctors only found this out by chance. A good side effect from a drug ~~~ so, 2009 - 2013 migraine free until last week. He's had his Beta Blocker slightly increased and is now using Advil gelcaps to clobber any small symptoms that appear. Knock on wood he's doing fine, so far.

So sorry to hear you condition is still evident. Light shows and pain do stop one in their paths. There no way a person can feel right to be able to discuss much of anything. Jim's Dr says there are 3 major companies fighting for the control of this market. The medication nips the pain immediately and sustains the relief. I suspect you might be aware of this.

      Good Luck KB!

Sophie is wanting to go out now, so I must obey!!
