JAPANESE ANEMONE and some BEES

The tall willowy Japanese Anemone is displaying quite a few blooms this year.

And the bees are so thankful because they are spending
a lot of time gathering the sweetness
from each blossom.

The colours from
the blossoms
the diffused light
the giant evergreen behind
the spent blossom heads
and
the new blossom heads
all give the view an ethereal effect.

I wander by with my nose to the ground
with the hope that I can find one of my old bones
that I buried recently.

Two bees are working in tandem to gather every little morsel.
(can you find them?)

You did find them!
YAY
with all of this is going on just above my nose.
Imagine that !!

    1. I believe they do, Debra ~~ we used to have so many flowers growing, all kinds of varieties but over the years certain cultivars died out because of our extreme Mariitme climate. We now let those that can survive, do !!!!

  9. Nice shots! Bees are a necessary thing, but can be painful if you disturb them - you wouldn't do that, would you, Sophie?

  10. So beautiful! Your garden must be a joy to walk through. Japanese Anemone is a wonderful plant; very easy to grow and a welcome sight as the summer nears its end. I have one in my garden and it's blooming like crazy.

  12. Hi Sophie and Ron! Love your flowers today ~ and bees! And your beautiful rainbows in your last post! Rain, rain go away for you guys and you gal! Was that the Duck Pond Park in our home town or another park? Very cool photo effects and great new header. I keep thinking that one of these days I'm going to play with photos effects, but the days race by! I don't know where the time goes, but it is so great to have time to do what I want. You can't beat being retired! Take care!

    1. Yes, the park is / was the Duck Pond Park in Wolfville which is beautiful now but I still love the old feel of the 1950's - 60's when there was a pond with ducks. The rainbow the other evening was so amazing and so close, I felt like I almost could touch it.
I enjoy every once in awhile using photo effects because some pictures that I take either just are blurry or not very good at all. The effects I use just enhance the colours or overall moodiness. Then Sophie starts in with her stories and I supply the pictures. The header was taken at the Pride Parade in July. The angle was fine but the background was boring. A tweak here and a tweak there and they look like they are in a painting or an architectural rendering. I really enjoy what's available for us nowadays to play with. My creative side is singing!!

    2. Hey Ron! I just had to second your comment on what we can do creatively now! The ability to easily research and find information is amazing! Photography is available to us in a way that was unimaginable, and it's so cheap. We can create content and put it out into the world. And You Tube ~ OMG!!!!! It's just mind boggling. I'm LOVING it! Say it isn't so ~ the Duck Pond is gone! :(
