I'm not quite sure what I'm looking at.
I actually ran passed this in the park today
and turned with....
...what is that? (click)

What kinda tree is this?

  1. I haven't learned to tell the type of tree by just the bark.... but the distortion at the base isn't an indication of type of tree but of damage. There is an array of issues that may have caused that (lightening at the base, critters, disease etc. Hope this helps. Have a great day Sophie!

  2. I wish my son were here... he'd probably know. He majored in Forestry + spends a lot of time in the woods hunting and can name just about any tree out there... He actually works for Fed Ex now. Go figure. Sophie you are one smart dog, and I'm sure you're going to figure this one out. Have a beautiful weekend :)

  3. It's gotta be a tree rat.
    Benny & Lily

  4. I don't know what kind of tree that is, but I think that those lumps near the bottom are some kind of bolls. They can be formed by some kind of irritation, or insect. You rarely see them so large, and so close to the ground, however.

  5. That tree is definitely sagging....maybe even melting!

    XXXOOO Daisy, Kendra & Bella

  6. I have been busy and missed so many of your adventures, I had to go back and read all about them. I like Liam too, he has a lot of speed and vigor. I like Mim Mim too and you can't tell who is the daughter and who is the mommy. And you had a real English tea party!! How great is that. Did you get some goodies too?

No idea about trees. Unless I see a leaf, then maybe.--Inger

  7. Why, I do believe it is a a secret entrance to a Hobbit hole!

  8. All those tree ideas are great....actually I kinda thought it looked like a 'derriere au bois' as in wooden backside!LMAO

  9. It's a mysterious one!
Be careful, who knows what's inside it! =)))

  10. Looks like that tree's got a little "junk in it's trunk".

  11. Hey Stew...that's exactly what I was aiming for! :-)

This 'DOODLE' is looking forward to your comment....don't be shy...all I do is SNIFF & LICK!
