TIMBERRRRRR !!!

Oh Hi over there!
I'm Doodle-supervising again.

We've had some rain and wind events here lately ~~~

and this tall gangly tree has to come down

Jim and the next door neighbour with all the tools

are going to fell the tree this morning.

So Jim secured a rope from a nearby tree to the ladder
to protect the shed roof, Yay!!

And from my vantage point
all looks mighty fine and safe.

A short period of saws whirring and buzzing
and the tree came tumbling down.
Now I can go sniffing behind the shed again
without any worries.
~~~
Thanks Dave for helping us!!
    1. I was thinking the very same thing, Ann ~~ the right tree, can you just imagine if it was the dead tree that got the rope ~~ too funny!
      I'm just lucky that I don't have a light bulb for a head, or maybe I should!!
    1. How ironic, Mitch & Molly we used to have a huge bittersweet vine growing on that tree and we cut it down because it was out of control.
      Now the tree is gone!
  6. OMD! What are you wearing the cone of shame?
    You might want to send some of that wood here, it's starting to get cold---well, our kind of cold--at night and in the mornings. We need a fire. Oh, send a fireplace, too.
    1. Oh YES, a big YES, affirmative!!
      All I could think of, was that it would fall on the neighbour's house and they just got finished dealing with a monster spruce tree falling in their frontyard just missing their verandah!
      Calm and relaxed we are!!
  11. Wow-- that looks like a big job!! Will you save the wood for next winter?? Do you have a fireplace?
    Poor Sophie- still wearing her special collar-- hope she gets to give it up soon.
    1. I spent most of the day without The Crown of Shame ~~~ YAY!!
      The wood we gave to Dave because he could use it for next winter. We have a mini-gas stove in the living room, so the wood wouldn't be useful at all. That 's OK though, Dave deserves it for exhausting himself!!
  15. Hi Y'all!
    Y'all be careful felling trees. There are lots of friends who did logging layin' in cemeteries. Even those who do it professionally are not immune from serious accidents or death by tree.
    Y'all come by now,
