ICE IS EVERYWHERE!!!!

My word, my world is covered,

smothered in ice

so thick

so slippery

so dangerous!

Did I ever tell you that "fear" 

is not part of my repertoire.

I am walking along the edge,

the very icy edge of the slope.

Why not!!?!

Oops, there goes my blond legs again,

slipping with pretty much every step.

A much needed break ~

I can run here without any worry of slipping.

My back hind appears to be taking off behind me!

Here's that super icy trail again.

Did I ever tell you that I can figure out things pretty quickly

as in walking along the edge of the ice

always works better than ~~

landing on your DOODLETUMMY 

with all your blond legs splayed out around you.

Once I realized that going over the edge could

be a possibility then I stepped much more carefully.

So glad you are on my side Daddy Jim,

I do believe I growing weary of this ICEWORLD.

Let's head back to the car, OK!?!

This will show you my ice world high on the hill overlooking the Atlantic Ocean

on this rather calm, slightly overcast with sun pushing through day.

Look what I saw on the hill as I was working my way back to the car.

Beautiful but very strange indeed!

BRILLIANT WALK DAY

As the title says,

we awoke to a bright blue sky

not so warmish day

(but who really cares, right)

 so off to Point Pleasant Park

we headed because the guys promised.

Seriously if there was a 7th heaven I was in it.

This walk was so full of furry friends and laughter,

I'd say a 7th heaven really is where you find it!

~ and I found it ~

a deep inhale

~~ HOLD ~~

then exhale

and move on

because there is so much more to find

just follow me

as you always do

LOVE is in the park!

Jim and I are heading down this route.

It's the middle of a circle 8 trail

we make when we decide to avoid the hills.

Ron heads back to the car

while I seek out more new friends

and

enjoy every ounce of this brilliant walk day!

ICE & SNOW

The past two weeks our wintery world has truly lived up to it's name.

Let's see 4 storms of varying degrees of intensity, quantity deposited

and beauty as a result have made us more aware of the dangers of ice

and the beauty of ice and snow.

One lone Bloodgood Maple leaf swathed in ice 

not about to fall to the ground any time too soon.

Yet when the temperatures rose over night

the ice disappeared.

Then a couple days later the snow fell again

all light and fluffy

just enough to cover all 

so the carpet looked even and beautiful.

Hanging in the espaliered apple tree

soaking up the sun

I found the birdhouse at the top

the Japanese pagoda style wind chime

and

the foghorn deep sounding wind chime

at the bottom.

The last remnants of the ice still hung on for dear life

to the Kousa Dogwood.

The sunshine shone brightly coaxing the ice to disappear

with light sounds of dripping 

as we passed the Colorado blue spruce.

But you know I can smell spring!

I just know it's not far away

and

I sticking to my story!!

1000TH POST !!

My DOODLE Blog life

Today I share with you my 1000th post since that day.

Who knew that I could write this much and
have this much DOODLE INFO to share?

The past year I slowed down a smidgen because
Daddy Ron got sick
and well you know
~ I have to be the caretaker and "take over" ~
Oh heck, I love doing that
wouldn't have it any other way,
It's all about priorities, right !?! Right!

So, my 8th birthday was on Ground Hog.
(oh BTW, he saw his shadow and we will be having
at least 6 more weeks of winter and snow)

We were wallopped with 3 storms already in the past 2 weeks with 2 more to come.

Come have a look at the ice!!

Our side yard in amongst the evergreens and birches
totally laden in ice.

I managed to squeeze under all the trees, shrubs and hanging branches
listening to the crackling sounds.

The clematis vines, so many vines
are completely encapsulated in thick ice.
Having fun with the orbs again
gives the ice a glasslike effect.

After surveying the yard
I came inside to discover
 this little box of goodies
~ all for me ~

I was allowed to look inside
and sniff

then this is what happened,

now who did that with my cookies?

 ~ even Ricky was in on the tease
not a peep from him either ~

See my nose pointing at the cookie?
The control one has to have
when silliness prevails.

Cookies are good you know!
I finished then grabbed a seat to watch
all the going-on
with the guy next door
who was kindly clearing out our driveway
and
the neighbour's parking lot.

I hope the next storms are not too bad.
Fingers crossed!

MY 8TH BIRTHDAY ~ I WILL NEVER FORGET!!

(With massive artistic licence and since this is my blog this truly is what happened!)

Today February 2nd, 2015 is my 8th BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!

However 2 days ago on Saturday 

we THREE AMIGOS visited 

a very dear friend June and her daughter Katharine

who have trekked across the Atlantic to tackle the sale of June's home

and her many, many paintings.

Look at that SMILE on Katharine's face?

Says it all, doesn't it!!

Waiting behind Katharine and that lovely grin is ~

June ~ a friend that my Dads met in the late 1970's

who is very artistic, 

who is a gemini (winks),

who brought up a stunning daughter,

who worked in 2 university libraries,

who rode her bicycle everywhere,

who then drove her car everywhere,

who joined the guys on summer excursions to the New England States

and Prince Edward Island not to mention the Annapolis Valley where Ron was born,

who joined Jim's Exercise Studio without hesitation,

who is strong as an ox,

who can discuss anything and everything,

who makes a lovely dinner,

who makes wonderful espresso coffee,

who so enjoys painting,

and

well that should give you small idea of what the guys think!

Even this presentation will tell you that these 2 women are very artistic

and

because my birthday is today ~ did you know that?

Well, that lovely lemon loaf is going to be my birthday cake.

~~ only 2 days early ~~

remember it's my birthday and I am permitted to do as I please, smiles!

So I have taken an immediate liking to Katharine

~ I love women always have ~

Seriously Katharine, I have been a very good DOODLE all year!

I truly believe LICKS & KISSES will solve all the world's problems.

Tasty, yummy and oh so good!

This girl is a keeper!

Only thing living in France seems to be such a long way away.

I will watch you on social media though.

The four humans did talk a lot and laugh a lot

and

take a lot pictures.

It was well worth the waiting for the scrumptious, lemon loaf though.
