Up the Slope Pt 3

and would you look at what was in front of us
as we sat on the edge of the hill

.....with the warm south winds bathing us.....

Just on the hillside above these kiteboarders
you find us.....
with our noses to the pedal,
trying to find BlueOuterSpaceBall...

with Cynthia laughing at our industriousness...!
no really, she is having a super time
and thinks we are the funniest people/dogs on the planet!

These kiteboarders are outta control...

but not us...we are  just grooving along enjoying our chance encounter

and so is Jim.

Time seems to stand still and fly by at the same time!

but Mocha has her eye on Ron...
not letting him get away with anything!

There is one last
 tete a tete
and nose snuggle

before we head down the hill
back to our cars
and
into the far beyond.

Up the Slope Pt 2

So come along as I meander up the path with a slight hint of a familiar scent...

In the grasses I notice my brain is recognizing something...
something so familiar and yet elusive....

OMG...it's Mocha and Cynthia.... <click for a refresher
now just look at those ears, eyes and smile...
and that's just Cynthia's...lol
....coming to the hill WAS a good idea!

Mocha, Loco-Motion
has her own BlueOuterSpaceBall
and look who has it in HER mouth!

looks like there's no room for BlueOuterSpaceBall
in Mocha's mouth with that tongue...lol

Daddy Jim and Cynthia are teachers
and everyone knows how teachers
greet each other....
open mouths and tilted heads...seriously!

Gees...that head tilting must have caused something to go awry
with me and Mocha...look....is this one dog?

So Mocha's allowed to play with her ball once in awhile
I don't mind sharing
besides she had 2 balls here today
another orange type...
MissSofteeSqueezeeBall!
Me likes...!

Mocha and I LOVE to play
What's Your Secret?
I'm telling her mine...seriously!

The day has really come together for us all...
thanks to Mocha and Cynthia
but WAIT....there's more!

NEXT TIME!!!!

Up the Slope Pt 1

Today my Dads attended a funeral of someone they didn't know,
but was close to Jim's sister... her partner's father.

I came along too,
and waited patiently in the car
while they attended the service...
the temperature was cool
so leaving me in the vehicle with
the windows down was just fine.

When they returned to the car,
we headed into the city to get something to eat
and finally found a take out sandwich/salad/everything else place....
major jackpot...the food is unbelievably good.

The weather began to change and the humidity
started smothering us again.

So we headed home because Ron gets headaches
when the weather changes this quickly.

He slept for a couple hours and
then they wanted to know if I wanted
to go to MacDonald Hill for some fresh air!
Imagine having to ask....!

Am I grateful?

I'll sit and pose for anyone if I can come here
and soak up the view and fresh breezes.

I've learned that listening usually gets me what I want...
and you just wouldn't believe
what I got up and over that hill
behind!

Follow me up the path and you'll see!

Sally and her Owner

Just above Jim's hat, you can see a tiny beach.
This is where the video below was taken.
We have run into Sally and her owner
many times on our strolls through
Point Pleasant Park.
She brings Sally for an outing
and being a Border Collie loves to fetch
her frisbee type ring.

The video is long just over 6 minutes
so zip through it if you feel like
or get a good cuppa cuppa (tea or java)
and put up your feet.

You'll see how agile Sally's owner is for her age and condition...

She sees this every time she visits with Sally and
walks the park paths without a care in he world.
Oh to be as nimble as her when I'm her age.

Early spring we spied her taking photos of  little bluets (flowers)
growing along this walkway.
We thought that maybe she is a photographer.
It's intriguing and we will find out more
about our elusive Sally and her owner.

Action Central

With the heat and humidity
smothering our area lately
we decided a dip in the
North West Arm
was needed.

This family was trying to convince their new puppy
that the water was just fine.
If they had taken notice of me
they would have learned a thing or two....seriously!

The invasion of the canoe people...
we turned the corner and look...

there were more
and that's only 1/2 of them

That's me moseying along just slipping through the water...

passing all these vessels
 large and small

and watching near misses like this one

but I made sure I was not close to these guys when one decided to flip over
(check out the video)
you'll see that I have my priorities straight

There were many learners flipping over...
I guess they were new at this

as long as they don't disturb my need...
 to retrieve

I think that by the time we reached
the end of the park
the vessels were all in a line
sailing in perfect unison.

All I can say is that the waters were active today
with so many exciting things to watch...

and since it's usually just little ol' me and the guys...
well I kinda liked it.

Joy of Orange!

I thought I might re-iterate a fact,
'a well-known fact'
I LOVE THE COLOUR
ORANGE!

One of the main reasons
I use the colour is to attract
attention....
Ruby's attention!

...to get a super amount of eye/nose/ball co-ordination practice...

and meet all sizes in the woods and on the paths

as I said ....all sizes and shapes

It seems the colour is an attraction magnet
(sorta/kinda like a chick magnet)

So I have to keep up with my agility
so I don't lose Mr. Orangie or Mr. Bionic

to ''Kissy Kissy nose Doodles' Ruby

You see I shake, rattle and roll
for my colour embodies me
and puts smiles on certain faces.

Oh, my Joy of Orange!

Field of Heather

This 200 year old Field of Heather is very special at the moment.
It's located 1/2 way through our walk at
Point Pleasant Park.
The blooms and fragrance are 'out of this world' now.

Sitting still during this capture was all right this time....

but last fall there was nothing keeping me from
getting Mr. O back from this dastardly duo.

Even whispering sweet nuthin's wasn't going to
make him relinquish Mr. O

Ah HA...look who's got him back....
that took stealth and cunning...
my kind of manouevres.

When are we going back there again, guys?
