I do Understand...Dad!

The ocean helps to clean up the clutter and
create a space for calmness and compassion.

I know what Daddy Jim is going through
with this recent medical scare with his father.

I want to make him feel better
 through my closeness and companionship.
He's been extra special good to me for the passed four years
so I am sending all this goodness right back to him.

Get Well Vibes~~~!

Ron is so good in a pinch...

since Jim's father, Pops,
 (pronounced Pups,with a canine reference)
is not doing so well....

I was taken for a quick jaunt on MacDonald Hill.

I needed my exercise,
so Ron kept throwing the ball
up the hill
and
down the hill.

This is the easy person's way out of walking a dog, I think.
But hey, if I get to chase Mr. Orangie,
then it's all good!

Mr. Orangie thinks I don't know much.

If I do a "roll over" manouever
then he won't know
that I know....

that by resting for a moment...

I can take in this view and feel peace.

This is all I want for Pups
because he is so good to me.
Do you think he can feel
the get well ~~~vibes~~~
I'm sending him?

Martinique Beach Pt 3

Since so may of my loyal followers expressed
such amazement with the surf and beach pictures last week...

I thought I`d nag Ron to show you just a few more from another angle.
Needless to say, my boundless energy was heightened with the pounding surf
so I took full advantage of the deserted expanse.

This is a small cove nestled at the beginning of Martinique beach,

which has a handful of cottages/winter homes nearby.

From their perspective, the waves put on a pretty good show,

and today, we were beyond ourselves watching the continuous onslaught of wave action.

Some of the structures are the simple Cape Cod style,

while another is more modern, situated in a very precarious position.
You can see the stone wall being erected and the back hoe sitting to the left.

I think I would prefer living back from the shore,
since Mother Nature has been mighty active/destructive this passed decade.

While you enjoy these typical Nova Scotian beach shots,
I`ll take a shot at Mr. Orangie.
Gotcha!

Splish Splash!

With the temperature being 17 degrees Celsius (62 degrees F), we decided to sit out in the backyard and soak up the warmth and ambiance. Our yard is sheltered from the north wind side and we get the southern sun shining for quite a few hours.

Spring is struggling this year, even though the crocus and snowdrops have emerged. I find the cooler temps keep the bulbs blooming longer which is just fine for a lengthier period of colour in the garden.

Sophie was given a new ball from our DIVA friends at Xmas time.

It's a tough little bugger,
unlike Mr. Orangie
which she can puncture so quickly
and go OCD on,
until it's removed from her posssession.

Since water courses through her veins,
(being a Lab and a Poodle)
anyone can just mention or intimate H2O and she's there.

See what I mean, her "Spidey H2O" senses are tingling!

Oh this is too good to be true!
Just look at that ball
falling
falling
falling
into the barrel
of water.
What next?

Well, that's pretty obvious isn't it?!

Sophie and Jim

While visiting with the guys today at Point Pleasant Park....

I got to see some pussy willows...

and Mayflowers
(our provincial flower which was not fully in bloom yet, very soon though)
You should smell these delectable darlings.

I caught up to this fuzzy wuzzy
and had what I thought would be a quick chat...

However, there was no slowing down for any meaningful conversation.

We trekked by some regrowth trees which are starting to make their faces known.
In 2003, Hurricane Juan devastated our park and Mother Nature is bringing her back.

Today, I felt very calm and at peace.
With my sitting session with Jim at the beginning of my sojourn,
I think it helped to set the tone for a great meet and greet
throughout the whole park.

Martinique Beach Pt 2

This is what was waiting for us as we passed the outcrop and headed for the main beach.

The guys were all about the waves,
while I had to sniff pretty much every rock and piece of seaweed I saw.

The continuous onslaught of wave action was never-ending.

Since Ron dallied coming around the outcrop I figured I should hurry him up.

Strange thing was...
there weren't any surfers carving out these waves.

That's OK!
I'll take full advantage of this beach,
the entire 3 kms!

Really how much can a dog take
or for that manner a human
to soak up this sight.

We even had time to hunt for sea glass.
This a great beach for finding these little gems
and we did.

Had enough yet!

I know I haven't.
I don't want to go home.
Just one more dunk, please!
