Me and my Croci!

See, these are a few pale yellow croci under one of my many maple trees!

Up close they are such a delicate shade of pale yellow.

These blue/purple ones are hardy fellers with their neon orange stamens.

These Sieberi are hiding under an azalea.

Here comes Ron pointing out some more croci near the espaliered apple trees.

Most of the time I'm tearing around the garden and
Ron thought it appropriate to show you how I see crocus
when I'm whizzing by!

Now that I'm settled I can again, appreciate the delicateness
and singular beauty of these early and much loved harbingers of spring!

Water...my Life Force!

It's a pretty safe bet that I'll be in the water from now until next fall!

I wend my way along the water's edge so easily.

I'm pretty good at lifting my paws out of the water and carefully placing them back in
as I survey the beach.

When the tide recedes it creates a bit of a drag
pulling me into the water beyond.

The waves are mighty today
however where I'm situated the ferocity of the water
is not as obvious.

See...my beach is not as wild as it is on the other side.

I took a small diversion hike up over the sand dune today
to see how much sand has disappeared this winter.
Many, many metres of sand have been gouged out and
dragged into the ocean.

I do worry about my beloved beach and hope that next winter
isn't a tough one.

There are still paths to follow with lots of grass and evergreen trees.
Each year though this land is chewed up and spit out literally.
Well, I guess I'll make the best of my visits now.

I said OVER my head, please!

OK, I am willing to do pretty much anything for the guys.

Especially if it has anything to do with the beach and my ball.
(You probably figured that out a long time ago, right)

All they have to do is throw the ball,
long and hard,
over my head.

Now who is making a fool out of me?

This is really ridiculous.
Where is my ball?

I can only scan so much of the beach in front of me
and in this case,
all of it!

This is so embarrassing,
'cause I can put on an amazing show
with my speed and accuracy.

and this can only be achieved if the ball is thrown over my head and into the far beyond!

OK, guys
practice up on your throwing technique, please!
I can't attract any dogs into playing with me with these kind of antics.

My Favourite Perch!

Every morning I run out into the backyard
after having my meal
and head directly for one particular spot
on the east side of the property
which I find very tranquil.

Yes, my old reliable stick lays on the ground
waiting for me to scoop it up and give it a chew.

Once I finish the chewing I begin to survey adjoining properties with the off chance that a neighbour
maybe awake and has ventured out onto their deck or lawn.

Since I am pretty much surrounded with doggy neighbours
I know I'll have a chance to greet them with a friendly woof woof!

The most important part is to sit very still and just listen!

The birches always seem to gleam in the early morning sun.

It seems that this morning I may have gotten out a little too early
because I've been waiting for quite some time.

Oh well, at least, I can tell the guys
I saw three croci poking their heads
 through the forest floor.
I know this will make them very happy!

It's Squeezing Time Again!

A return trip to our favourite rock.
What is in this hole anyway?

It's on this side of the big rock somewhere!

I know, you knew what it was.
I'm squeezing the salt water out of my orange ball.

OH OH OH!
I just love that feeling of the squirting water shooting out.
You know, sometimes, I manage to soak the guys
and run off with such glee!
