SAND ~ SEAWEED & ROSES

The unusual
the 'out of the norm'
the splendidly colourful
is what we found on the beach recently ~

laying scattered all over the sand.

Mr. Orangie was most intrigued
checking out these roses
snuggled up with the seaweed and rocks.

The ocean was persistent
pushing more and more waves
onto the sand and rocks
leaving the roses smothered in bubbles.

How they got here is anybody's guess, really.

What do you think caused the invasion of the pink/red roses
on this blue/grey day?
Dean Martin will serenade you as you figure this one out.
ENJOY !!

  1. Aw... the roses are probably from a sad occasion. Beautiful in the sand, were probably meant to float out to sea...

    1. The ocean wasn't going to allow these beauties to float away at all.

  2. I'd like to think that a romantic proposal and acceptance took place...but they may also be gifts for a loved one not here anymore. Either way, love was sure to be involved.

  6. Happiness for a moment, or in memory of what once was, no matter, they have been enjoyed so much by you all. Sophie, you look dashingly lovely in your summer coat. Jean.

    1. Roses can truly mean so much but I think they are so special when found on the beach on a grey day.

Sophie was ecstatic and sniffed them all over.

She started to chew on one so I put an end to that.

Sophie Honey, I said "what if somebody offered these to a beloved Doodle Lover? Would you still eat them?"

      "Oh yes", was the answer.

      She is so funny sometimes.

    1. Such a normal thing to do Eileen.

This beach has been a refuge and an inspiration for us through losses and loves.

I walked this beach daily after my Mom's passing to regain my life and lift her spirit high.

      Hugs!

  12. I had forgotten that Dean Martin did that song! Those are very rare sea roses. Like sea glass, they're known to wash up on beaches, but they don't usually look so good.

    1. My Mom played Dean Martin music all the time along with Nat King Cole and Elvis so when I saw the "SEA ROSES" I immediately thought of this song.

It was just one of those poignant moments especially at this time of year !!!

  14. Sophiedoodle, you stumbled on a great mystery. Best thing is not to worry about it, just enjoy the beauty of the roses against the blue gray of the rocks and ocean.

    1. We did just that IngerDoodle because the waves kept lapping the shoreline covering my boots at one point. Sophie was all over the roses and so was I with the camera. We both had a great time.
