BACK ON THE ROCKS

Hi Ho!

I'm over here just to Jim's right hiding in the grass.

Apparently the rest of the country

was being blanketed with white white snow

while we were drenched in rain ~~~

thus the mist / warmer temps cover the shoreline

making all the rocks a beautiful shade of dark gray

and ruddy brown

The important thing is 

~~~ Ron is taking my picture again ~~

and photos of seafoam

wet rocks

and beautifully graceful seagulls

flying overhead.

BRIGHTENING UP A DRAB DAY

Before the "unexpected" of 2 weeks ago I visited my daycare

and needless to say I had lots to say upon my retrieval.

Daddy Jim explained what had happened to Daddy Ron

so I digested the news and immediately settled into "care-taking" mode !

He wanted me to tell you that with fingers/toes/legs all crossed

the healing of his heart has begun.

With 2 stents implanted + one other vessel unable to be "stented"

and after 2 hours on the table

he emerged exhausted but determined to move forward.

Life's curves whether pre-destined or by choice

have reached this juncture

which has thrown us all off kilter.

 Daddy Jim has already been down this road

turned the corners and returned,

so with this under his belt helping Ron seems so familiar.

How many times have we all heard,

"You just don't look like you could have had a heart attack Ron!

You are so active, have been all your life!"

I guess eating good foods, being active, 

staying clear of smoking and the devil's juice (wink wink)

did help a lot

but could have made the event happen sooner and more fatal

if not followed.

 Family history is the culprit,

from brother to mother to grandmother.

So with all of this information and so much more

we head off into the horizon

taking one day at a time.

So on drab sky days like the one's you see today,

a bit of brightness finds its way to the forefront,

grabs your attention

if only for a split second.

But you know there is beauty in greys

and 

I can settle for that right now.

My HeaRT of DaRKnesS

As many of you already know

my life and my Daddies' lives

have been turned upside down

with the sudden and unexpected 

occurrence of a heart attack

experienced by Ron 

last Tuesday & Wednesday mornings.

Ron thought he was having severe bacterial

stomach issues but sensed it just wasn't the same feeling.

They reached the hospital within 1/2 hour

and he was admitted

poked

prodded

CAT scanned

plus so much more

before he knew it.

If you ever have ANY chest issues

IMMEDIATELY

go to emergency

tell them you have heart pains

and

you will JUMP to the head of the line.

With careful diagnosis

and after 2 hours on the operation table

3 '"stents" were put into his heart

Life's corridor has really changed

and 

I plan on helping with my daily regime

of snuggles, nudges, chin presses and healing licks.

He had to return to the hospital 

after being released

which was "a good thing" 

in the long run.

Better safe than sorry.

So you see my 

HEART

is a little somber and heavy right now

but I assure you I will take care

of this Doodle Lover Daddy of mine.

SPRING IS IN THE AIR ~~ SUPER FAST

This weekend,

this last weekend in February

which normally is fr-fr-fr-freezing cold to the nth degree in Nova Scotia

was absolutely grand

it absolutely put a spring (pun intended) in my step

I trotted off into the park with Jim

while Ron hugged the shore path

(which is a non-doggy area after 10 a.m.
so I couldn't take his path)

I sniffed the grassy trails

and left a few calling cards like all the other doggy's 'do do'!

LOL

(Psst ~ lots of 'do do' doggy pooper scooper picker uppers everywhere

Keeping the park clean is my mantra)

The birds, oh yes even the birds could feel SPRING in the air.

I just know with paws crossed that SPRING

is descending upon us super fast this year.

See the flowers are in bloom in this window!

This is a sign I just know I'm right!



BIRDS ~~ THEY ARE EVERYWHERE!!

Sitting quietly in the car at the park

taking in the view below

knowing that tranquility came be long-lived or momentary

then an avalanche of feathers tumbled out of the sky

landing ever so neatly

on the pavement beside our neighbour's car

the onslaught continued

with grace and beauty

with movement so fast

so precise

that the myriad of birds all sorts

seemed to know exactly what to do

only permitted to feed within a few minutes

almost discussing who's to drop in next

to alight upon this vehicle to receive treats

and delight all onlookers who luckily had their camera phones ready

I reckon this happens daily

with the amount of birds spilling out of the heavens.

I can only say it had me intrigued!

Don't know about Jim though!?!



WINTER'S WINDS

200 cms (78 inches or 6.5 ft) of snow

have fallen upon us since early December

along with the winds

those harsh blowing North Atlantic winds

that straighten my hair

with one blast

 no de-tangler

in my back pocket required

nor need I worry about the frizz-look

embarrassing me at the local mall.

There's no way

anyone could survive the ferocity

except maybe the occasional gull

even the cargo tankers have to wait out the strength

of Mother Nature's continual onslaught





but with all this being said

Nature's Beauty

just appears on the horizon

with the ocean spray

ignited by the sun's rays

flashing through the clouds.
