On the way home
after meeting Hamish, <click
just down the road....
we noticed the pastures
with all the grazing cattle
flanked by the hills of evergreens
and deciduous trees
but the most exciting thing we noticed
You can see me in the backseat
(just squint your eyes
you can see me staring at you)
and Daddy Jim in the front seat
watching Daddy Ron
take some photos
of the Gaspereau Vineyards.
Purple grapes, many purple grapes.
We are so impressed with the effort
of the many vineyards
and they are starting to make their mark
in the wine world.

This beautiful landscape
is across the road from the Gaspereau Vineyards
and between you and me
Joan Baez
sang on that hill
called Norwegian Bend
in 1970
a veritable mini-Woodstock.
Time to return home.
For those of you who don't know,
this part of the province has always been farmed
with many fruit orchards for many, many years.
The times have changed and so have the farming methods.
The future is vineyards and the ones listed in the links
are the new kids on the block.
Lovely vines. Here this year ours have been a complete and utter failure. Thank you for your help re Angel but we had sad news today. Have a wonderful Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Oh dear sad news...take care of yourselves!
DeleteYou guys live in a little corner of heaven! Good to hear that vineyards are taking hold in Nova Scotia.
ReplyDeleteYes it is so good for our small part of Canada...seeing entrepreneurs making agood living and making everyone happy along the way!
DeleteAwesome views of fall, Ron! Those grapes are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI see you Sophie! Lick!
I see you too Sharon!
DeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteVery pretty place and vineyards too! Beautiful photos but can't see Sophie enough in the doodlemobile...
Ivan
Squint...just behind Jim's head...you'll see me!
DeleteThose vivid colours--just spectacular.
ReplyDeleteXXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
SHE'll have a bottle of red, please.
I hear ya, loud and clear....red it'll be!
DeleteHow gorgeous! I didn't realize how hilly your area is. It is just so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOur hills are not at all gigantic...but we do enjoy the undulating roads. This Valley is a small one close to and beside the eastern end of the Annapolis Valley which follows along the Bay of Fundy! Ron's hometown of Wolfville is just over the hill!
DeleteSuch lovely green and vibrant colors! I can't wait for the rains to come and turn our hills green again. :)
ReplyDeletePatience...just some patience!
