Sweet Grapes

On the way home 

after meeting Hamish, <click

just down the road....

we noticed the pastures 

with all the grazing cattle

flanked by the hills of evergreens 

and deciduous trees

but the most exciting thing we noticed

was the amount of vineyards

that are popping up in the Annapolis Valley and other areas of Nova Scotia. <click

We are so impressed  with the effort

of the many vineyards

and they are starting to make their mark

in the wine world.

is across the road from the Gaspereau Vineyards

and between you and me

sang on that hill

called Norwegian Bend

in 1970 

a veritable  mini-Woodstock.

Time to return home.

For those of you who don't know,

this part of the province has always been farmed

with many fruit orchards for many, many years.

The times have changed and so have the farming methods.

The future is vineyards and the ones listed in the links

are the new kids on the block.
