Today is the 14th Anniversary of my Dad Ron's Mom's passing.
She would be/is my Granny and word has it she loved dogs to pieces.
Word also has it, there were other doggies
in my Dads lives before me and that Granny
loved them 'till the cows came home....smiles!
Ron and his Mom were very close,
as you can see in this picture...
showing each other a rock
found on a beach near her home.
Yes cancer may have taken her from our world,
but I know she was a good soul
because Ron is so good to me.
Doesn't that make sense!
Psst... her favourite colour was pink
so I dedicate this post to her
with all the pinkness
the world can offer!
Mwahhhhh!
A lovely tribute to your grammy!

DeleteVery sweet, Sophie. But I'm still going to say "Damn Cancer!!"
ReplyDeleteI hear you, Teresa....yelling it loud...It was so unexpected because as she always would say...there isn't cancer in our family and bam..she got multiple myeloma. We helped her and supported and she left us in peace. It's a beautiful day today...it always is I've noticed!!!!!
DeleteWhat a great picture.
ReplyDeleteEveryone should have a good photo with their loved ones.
It helps to keep the love alive long after they've left us.
The picture is sitting on the table near the "old fashion" phone just like being at Grammy's house!
DeleteHi Y'all,
ReplyDeleteIf you get a double post, please delete the incomplete. My computer did a blip and the post I started disappeared. :(

DeleteI'm so sorry honey, for your sad day. if she would have met you here, she would have fallen so deeply in love with you sophie, but i do believe she may have taken care of you before you were born, until you were ready to be with your 2 daddies... hugs and kisses and a handfull (or 2) of doggy treats for you, girl.. you can share them with your daddios too if'n ya wants... hee hee
ReplyDeleteI never thought of that before...Granny taking care of me before landing on the Daddios door step...hmmm..now it all makes sense...thanks for this enlightenment!

DeleteRon, I'm sorry that I didn't see this before and that I wasn't blogging over the weekend.
ReplyDeleteYour Mom would be proud of you.
You're a good boy.
Your Friend, m.
Thanks so much Mark...this year for some strange reason the memories were more pronounced...I think it was due to a few triggers...the weather was exactly the same....not working, so my mind wanders....and recent changes with Jim's family situation....all culminated in this post! Not to worry, I'll get through it...cobwebs are being cleared as I type!
DeleteHi Ron...I didn't see this either. I agree with Mark - your mom would be proud of you. Your gentle and loving spirit beam through this blog - your appreciation of the beauty of the world around you and the people in your life I'm sure are things she recognized long ago.
ReplyDelete-Lisa
Thanks so much Lisa...As I related to Mark...things came together this year to make this memory more pronounced...as you know cancer plays a heavy hand sometimes and we just have to struggle through it all!
